If I linked someone to a site (IGN Insider for ex.) and told them to visit the BioShock page, well there might be an ad about new Halo 3 stuff and will click it, directing them to the leaked content that are videos and screenshots of Halo 3 Campaign and "Forge." Would I get in trouble if they stumbled upon it since it is technically on the same site as the leaked Halo 3 stuff? Once again, if I didn't link them straight to the Halo 3 leaked goods then would I still get in trouble?

Well, the fact that you just told everyone your plan to 'indirectly' guide someone to some leaked content, yeah, you'd get in trouble. ;)

If you did it accidentally? Nah. Say, you link to a website about Halo 3 and if you followed about 5 links from that page and it would get you to leaked content (without you telling people there's leaked content there) I guess you'd be ok.

Point being, avoid posting leaked content, directing, or guiding to leaked content, directly or indirectly.

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

If you did it unintentionally, I seriously doubt it. But I'm not a Moderator, so I can't be sure. You should probably PM a mod (or all the mods) with that question. Each mod will probably have their own opinion on the subject.

if you did it unintentionally then no, you wouldn't. but if you said " Hey guys go here: (link goes here). you should look at the top right corner." and the top right corner has leaked content, then ya, youd get your ass banned quick.

if you link a youtube video and they hit "More From This User" and they have leaked content, then you won't get banned, unless your post has something like "He has other cool videos too, check them out" that would probably get you banned.

or, thats how it SHOULD be.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

It depends on the mod, and our inflection of your intent. If we followed the link and it looked like you posted it with the intention to provide someone with forbidden material, we would probably all perma-ban you. If it looked like an accident, I'd probably either warn you, or give you a 3 day ban. Or, I wouldn't do anything aside from editing out the link and locking the thread if it was the OP. I'd imagine most of the other mods would do the same. If that user had multiple warnings about doing those kinds of things, I'd probably ban them for some time. They didn't learn their lesson the first few times, so perhaps even more time will knock some sense into them.

If the content was clearly against the rules, then I'd probably instantly perma-ban them.

Its probably a good idea to look around on whatever page you're linking to so that you can be sure there is no forbidden content on it.

As for the youtube question, it would depend on what was at the other end of the link, and if that user had any prior warnings/bans regarding that kind of behavior (noticing a theme here?).

If there's static "Look at our leaked halo 3 stuff" links plastered all over the bioshock page, then I wouldn't link it, but if there's some obscure link and you don't direct people to it, you should probably be fine. Basically, if you can scroll through the page and see an obvious H3 leaked content leak easily, don't link it.
