You can force a specific resolution using the -vidmode x,y,refresh rate command in the target box.

Edit: So yours would be "-vidmode 1680,1050,60" for a resolution of 1680x1050 with a 60Hz refresh.

Right click your Halo shortcut, and select Properties. You should then see something like this. I have inputted the data that you should to get the resolution you seek. Make yours match the picture I provided and you'll be set!
