I've been offline for a week and when I went to play some Halo 2 today I couldn't sign on.

I press start on the main screen, select my profile and the screen following it, where you're supposed to select the gamertag to sign in with, it shows nowhing. I then go down to Xbox Live on the menu and it comes up with "Network Problems...". I can't seem to get my gamertags to show up so I can sign on and play..

What I've done:
I've ran troubleshooter and I'm all good-to-go, no problems.
I can play other games on Xbox Live.
I've recovered my gamertag(s).
I've tried signing on with other 'tags.
I've cleared my Xbox 360 HDD Cache.
I've removed the HDD, unplugged the power, checked cables, power cycled my modem and left it unplugged for about a hour.
I've opened ports in my firewall for Xbox Live.
I've deleted "Halo 2" from my HDD.
I've made other profiles on Halo 2 and tried to use those to see if my gamertags would show.
I've checked all Family Settings and Parental Controls, no problems.
I've changed settings on my Xbox 360 to run the disc instead of going to the Dashboard.

Lastly I called Xbox Support and was told it may be a glitch that'll clear itself up in 48 hours.

I just wanted to post this and see if any one else has dealt with this and found a fix. Hopefully someone can help, I'm tired of GOW already...

Just turn your XBox off for a little bit and try again the next day.

Never eat yellow snow, unless of course, you spilled your Mt. Dew!

With all of those "other tags" and "other profiles" maybe your 360 doesn't believe you are who you say you are! Are you?

I've had that before. I usually go back to the dashboard, sign into Live there, go back into the game, and the GT is in the list, even though it wasn't a few minutes earlier.

Hopefully that works, and it isn't just coincidence.

Well I've moved all but one GT to my MU and deleted all but one profile on Halo 2 and tried again, but no go. I'm not sure what else to try anymore, so I'll just leave it alone for a while I guess...thanks.

It used to happen to me, too.... until I realized that I needed to login to LIVE from the dashboard before starting the Halo 2 disc. If that's not the case for you...I have no idea. Good Luck.

This problem occurred for me when I was using an old, scratched disc of Halo 2. I bought a new one and it worked a charm :)
