I was wondering if anyone out there thinks that having a 16:9 Widescreen (inclusive of the side-peripheral views that one does not see with a 4:3) as well as Dolby Digital 5.1 (being able to hear elements coming from behind, etc.) actually gives those with this technology an “unfair” advantage against those without said technology while playing Halo2 on Xbox Live?

I mean, if one (16:9 and DD5.1) can see and hear others running up along side of them and the guy with the 4:3 TV and Stereo Sound never sees or hears them coming (and I would guess that most persons on Live now are 4:3 with Stereo); doesn’t that lead the HiFi guy to a swifter victory due to the superior hardware and not their FPS skill set.

Just a thought…

if you need excuses like that, you need more practice.

You cant rely on your sound system to help you.

or the size of your t.v

this may be a little off topic but im mentioning this because i dont know if it works with active camos on halo 2, but in mechassault people with high def tvs can tweak the settings to make cloaked mechs appear as grey bloobs plain as day,so if it does the same to active camo then it may indeed give them that unfair advantage....just not in a way your saying

by the way,ive played in dolby 5.1 .... if you pay insane attention you can actually hear people comeing up behind you,and that can be taken as unfair, but its actually just more realistic

actually i have a good tv in my room that im pretty good but i have a 75 inch wide screen with surround sound and i played live on it. its a big difference. i was undeafeted. i could barely even get killed. so yes there is an advantage to it.

if you are so sure there an advantage why ask...
