Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I want to know how many people have the game running great and how many are just sqeaking by and putting up with bad performance.

Perfectly smooth, just like glass.

Sounds great so far.

It runs horribly on vista, and great on xp, so I put "somewhat". This poll really doesn't show anything though because people can and DO have varying hardware setups.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

When I first installed and booted up the game, it ran horribly. I think I played through Campaign with about 15 fps.

After a Vista reinstall (I stopped dualbooting on the same hard drive) it worked better. Defragmenting makes it run even faster. I even overclocked my video card and got results. My only issue now is stuttering from time to time and that's because I need more RAM. I probably won't get that until the end of the month though.

I ran the Bioshock Demo, and it crashed fifteen minutes into the game. It's way more demanding than Halo 2 will ever be.

It works fine except for the random shader screw up. It's a nice surpise at sometimes, when everything you see is now diferent. Like Warlock became covered in tons of pink and green and blue squares, never happened again so far but it happens on other levels including SP and usally different mees-ups but it's fun to take pictures of it.

It ran ok... I had to overclock to get Anisotropic Filtering to run decently... For its visuals, it ran pretty poor.

I'd be perfectly fine, though, if my sound card wouldn't be so mediocre, as the sound lags when playing windowed. Other than that, just like Scarlet, runs on any setting, anything, alright with my PC. Odd enough of a concoction with a 6000 series card (GeForce 6800) from NVidia and an AMD Anthlon 64 Processor +3200.

Yes, 2 gigs here. Poor performance in some parts of SP and some MP maps in general. Desert Fox, I know how you feel. I saved cash for over a year to get this PC put together, just to find out it's not fast enough for the game I've waited years to play. Back to square one :(

1.5 GB here, and game is perfect. I don't know what's with the magic touch my PC has with Halo 2 Vista.

I got 1 GB and I was thinking it might be choppy at points because I didn't have enough RAM. Maybe something else is the problem.

I must be having a problem, because everyone is running it smoothly while I get lag at some points. Other times it's fine. Looks like there's some configuring to be done.

Don't be too sure because vista alone is sluggish with 1 gig or less. While I am sure you can get it to work with 1 gig by disabling a lot of services and all background programs getting another gig is IMO a much better idea. 2 gig has been recommended for a while now even with XP.

Halo 2 runs just fine on my system. Although I noticed the shadows becoming huge pixels when the "heretic" was talking to the prophet about him becoming the next arbiter (3rd lvl i believe). Other than that everything has been very well, i ran into some campaign lag once... but i have no idea what might have caused that...

Also, I don't understand why they make it a 1gb requirement/minimum... I don't think you can even run the thing that low... I use 32% of my 2gb of 800mhz ram just running vista with no apps.... When I play the game, it goes up to about 68%. I may upgrade to 4gb of ram just for the hell of it.

Love the game, just wish more people had it.
