As many of the Halo 2 gamers know, while playing in a custom game in H2, there have been numerous cases of which you receive one of these two messages:

"A member of your party has failed to load the map."
-or-
"You have failed to load the map."

MYTH:
Exit out of the party, the leader starts the game, you join, and the map will load.

This is false, you may receive: Networking Problems error or Cannot join at this time. error

MYTH:
Restart your xbox.

This may or may not work. But its easier to use my solution.

MYTH:
Re-Download the maps and join back into the party.

Again, this may or may not work, because you may get an error saying you cannot re-download them.

Finally, THE SOLUTION:

This is my solution, and many know that this works. This is the fastest way and it works 95% of the time. While in the party, if you receive one of those messages, here is what you do:

A) If you are the party leader, start matchmaking on BTB and wait for it to say "Searching for Games" or whatever. Return to the custom game screen and try to start the game, do not wait for it to say "Waiting for you to start the game." JUST START. If this doesn't work, go to BTB and repeat the steps."

B) if you are not the party leader, exit the party, or ask to start the BTB MM game. Follow the steps above.

C) If none of the above solutions work, use one of the "MYTH" solutions to try that, if they do not work. Delete your maps from you memory via X-Box Dashboard and Re-Download them. THIS SHOULD WORK, BUT IT TAKES LONGER.

HAPPY GAMING!
