A few points:
To someone prior to this posting asking if the Prophets could be Forerunner, no it's been stated that the Prophets come from the same originating planet but were of a sub-class (such as in a caste system) to the Forerunner, that the forerunner were Gods to them. Now then on to other items.
S-III... Alright, I do think it has to deal with a new group of Spartans (Spartan-III?), though to further instigate; let's take another angle. S-III could mean SECTION-3. The section with all the covert and classified operations OF ONI. In which case of course this could entail still that it has to deal with the new Spartans, though it doesn't necessarily mean that the Spartan project is called Spartan-III now, it could still be Spartan-II. Anyway it's a moot point, but one to consider.
Secondly, on the possibility of a Spartan-I project, and as such, candidates. Someone here earlier said something of the possibility that Mendoza was a Spartan-I. That's something I theorized actually also and would like to touch base as a good idea. Also think; Mobuto? Yes, I agree marines and ODSTs aren't given enough credit, but even still, to make it as far into the Library as he did is an amazing ability that far superceeds anything I've heard any ODST or Marine do. Maybe Mobuto too was a Spartan-I?...Maybe 343 Guilty Spark isn't recognizing John-117 as a Reclaimer from outer looks, but a similar genetic code, such as the Spartan's are integrated with?... Thoughts please.
Additionally, on the Sgt. Banks matter and his quote "I didn't think they'd spend a Spartan." That doesn't necessarily mean anything, sadly, because all Spartans are registered as MIA, never KIA, in order to boost morale. ONI ordered this so that it gave hope to all, that Spartans could never die. Of course it's propoganda, but hey, it works, right?
Anyway, I want thoughts especially on Spartan-I.
