its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

People already do that manually. The ones who don't are jerkfaces who want to make people miserable. It wouldn't really make a difference if it's built in. And besides, common sense is the best tool. If you don't want to see Halo 3 story spoilers, don't click on the thread titled "What happens on 5th level."

Just have ppl post their spoilers in a Group, then go to teh Halo 3 Forum & post a link to that thread.
Makes ppl feel stoopid & increases group member count, if you nubs are desperate enough.

I'd rather see the ability to mark posts/threads as spoilers. If the OP posts spoilers, his/her thread will have a different icon and have a "SPOILERS:" prefix before the thread title.

And then if you post spoilers in a non-spoiler thread, they can be hidden unless the user decides to show them.
Perhaps there can also be an automatic profile setting to view all spoilers.

because if seeing is believing,
then believe that we have lost our eyes

I have seen that on another forum too. The main problem with it here is how many people would take the time to use it. Its a pretty good system, but I'm sure typing, " Spoilers Below, works out fine. The easiest way to avoid it, which is probably what I'm going to do, is just stick away from that forum all together until I beat campaign.

We have a winner, folks.

Seriously, I don't think anybody would bother to use it. The way I see it, the people smart enough to click "This thread contains Spoliers" are already smart enough to add the little [SPOILERS] thing or whatever to their thread title.

You are your only defence against spoilers.Props to whoever posted that.

Here's a novel idea: self protection. If you see a topic with a title that seems spoiler-ish like "ZOMG THE PROPHET OF TRUTH" or "MOST AMAZING ENDING EVER!!!!!!!", then you may want to not click that one. No one's going to hide the truth from you.

Unfortunately. people are going to be posting "MASTER CHEIF DIES" in the titles, not the posts.

That's what I (and many others) are worrying about. I'm just gonna take a couple days off the boards, it's the only safe way.

.........for the record, I don't know if MC dies, I was using that as an example.

The odds are pretty good that if you visit the forums before you finish the game you will find some hardcore spoilers, just by looking at the titles. Then you're going to join a bunch of other people whining that Halo 3 was ruined because the found out the ending by visiting bnet forums. If you don't want to have the ending ruined for you DON'T GO ON THE FORUMS!

Right. I seem to recall that happening with HP: Deathly Hallows a while back (seems like so long ago, now).

Overall, I'd have to agree with the "stay away" people. In the end, after you've thought it through, the easiest and most effective solution is to just not come on the website for a few days.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

I am halfway through Harry Potter 7 now. If Snape kills Voldemort in the end, I will make it my personal mission to destroy you.

Your idea sucks for this forum, by the way.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

I just started it last night myself. I'm pretty sure I've heard a spoiler or two already but I made myself forget them.

best anti-spoiler weapon is the large button usually encircled in light at the front of your comp. push and hold until system powers down.

Don't worry, you'll be fine.

That is, if you don't mind general butchery of the English language and don't mind when loose plot threads are tied up in a disatisfying manner.

I hope Bungie took note of this when writing the end of Halo.

it's been said before, but the best idea would be to just stay of the boards..or any other part of the interweb for that matter.

Who are any of us kidding? I doubt a single person here will take a break from campaign long enough to sign into bungie.net to check the Halo 3 forum. I just can't see a chain of events that includes; pick up Halo 3 at midnight, go play a couple levels, take a break, eat a Twinkie, watch YouTube for an hour, check B.Net forums, then finish the game. Spoilers shouldnt even be an issue for any of us.

Although, I do REALLY appreciate any forum that I visit on a consistant basis that includes spoiler tags. I say if it doesn't require a huge amount of time and energy for the web team, why not? Its a great tool for any forum. However, if its gonna be a huge pain in the blam, just be smart and post "SPOILER" in your headline like people have mentioned before.

Maybe someone would be kind enough to post a tutorial in the H3 thread on how to post spoilers to raise awareness on the subject?
