I've had my first 360 headset for over a year, usually they break when you throw them, drop the controller on them or if your careless. Be responsible and maybe you'd have a headset.

Yes, the original 360 mic's suck... get a wireless MS mic. Plantronics is also good, actually now that I think about it... any mic other than the original 360 one is great.

Haven't had a problem yet but i've only had my 360 since May. I thought my headset crapped out on me until I figured out it was a server problem (ended up losing my messages for a day or so when the M$ servers went screwy). I bought a Joytech headset that came with a remote control for the same price as a MicroShaft unit.

The M$ headset is way better. The Joytech is a little hit and miss and the mic quality sucks. Everybody says that my volume is way too high when I use it.

I've been looking at a Triton 5.1 unit for some time now.

Its ok... Mine broke yesterday actually but i fixed it. I dropped it on the carpet and the speaker part came off but it was easy to fix. Its just snapped back in. Im gonna get a different headset though cause my microphone and speaker are turning like a yellowish color. lol

Why the hell are you looking at this? Get out.

And no group invites, you jerk. I'm not interested.

I decided to get a Turtle Beach X1 instead of a disposable piece of equipment. They are like a dog's ears... I can hear people sneaking up on me and when someone around me zooms in.

The audio can leak to your microphone if you have loud enough noise, though. Most people don't hear it unless it's really loud.

Why are the 360's headsets awful compared to the original? I've had two break already, and the sound in them isn't nearly like it was with the first xbox. Anyone else agree with this?

I've gone through four of them, they brake very easily.

You think you have it bad. I've been through 10!. Yes, I said 10 since launch. It really does suck when you don't do anything bad to them and the next day they just won't work. I think the switch inside the mute/talk button short circuits easily.

Yea they are very fragile. I've broken 3 already.

I broke one and got a plantronics, also doubles as a headset for my nextel, saved me money :D

Works great, inline volume control, wished the cord was about 4 feet long instead of 3 feet so I could have phone in pocket and clip the wire to my shirt

All the ones that broke on me either are unable to talk through or hear through. They need to make the casing out of metal to protect the wires better.

That's how all my mics broke. I thought it would be a good idea to buy the wireless MS mic, but that too, was an awful mistake. Battery life sucks, and you can't charge and talk. The feedback is just to much to handle. For ex. Whenever someone talks, it echos everything they say.

Yea, all these people say "treat them good, and they won't break" Bull -BLAM- they break either way. One, I kinda fixed by taking it apart, just had to cut a hole in it so that I can mute/unmute it from the inside, cause the button broke. I'll get a better headset sometime here.
