Because they have no originality and for some reason most people with those names have an attitude problem.

yeah, but I've also met tons of people with unoriginal gamertags who were pretty cool guys. Which is why i usually tend to try to not make assumptions based on gamertags, except for the kids with MLG tags, tend to usually not be good. I just usually tend not to judge someone by their GT.

Hell, Iceman Iz Back, and Iceman is one of the chillest and smartest people I've played with from here.

It isnt fair to base someone on their gamertag, but you can make a guess.
If you saw someone named Pup3e4t3r. Wouldnt you think something of them?

If you name contains borders, numbers at the end or numbers in substitution of letters you are auto-fail for lacking creativity. If the name is taken, move on.

My last thread: Why Reach Sucks

I am just sick and tired of certain name prefix/suffix variations.

These include:

-name- Is/Iz SiCk/SiK

WHO IZ/IS -name-

-name- Is/Iz Crunk

-name- is/iz clutch/klutch

and anything that has to do with I's, o's, x's and others.

Example: oXo KlUtChMaN oXo

I'm getting sick and tired of these stupid prefix/suffix variations, and I wonder why people use them. I've been playing Halo 2 XBL since November 9th and I still don't understand what "klutch" means.

Anyways, almost anybody withone of these stupid names is a button glitching faux pro, stereotype or not. I don't care. Almost everybody I've played with a variant of these names has talked loads of trash, button glitched, and invited me to a one on one after I have beat them in a game of team slayer.

I reject the invites and ask them why they want to "own my ass" one on one. They say "because I'm bad and they're not trying".

Any clues as to why people choose such names? And more importantly, why they feel overpowering and better than everybody else?

People don't usually send invites for 1v1's unless you talk trash so you're probably worse than them. To be clutch is to pull something off when it's needed the most. If you have no shield and get a no scope triple kill, then capture the flag with 5 seconds left, then that's clutch. Just like big papi in the world
series. And how are you any good if you don't button combo?

On a side note, I can't wait for halo 3 to slap all the kids who think that button combos are all that makes a halo 2 player good.

I like my name because I thought it sounded ........I dunno ..........good? Why else do people pick their names?

I've met plenty of people with random gamertags who trash talk. Though I'll agree most people with alternating caps or X's, O's, and I's are trash talkers and such, but again, it's not the gamertag that you should be upset at, it's the person.

Also, a lot of people with "strange" looking gamertags tend to be actually good.

Anyway my name stays *crosses arms and pouts* LOL.

I don't have much an issue with those 'tags, I mean they're not going anywhere are they? Just ignore it if you can. Otherwise leave bad name feedback? I dunno........

Why does everyone who thinks they are cool over the internet say fail? Its almost as original as some of those GT examples. Really, way to be a dick to that guy for no reason, nobody thinks you are cool, its the internet. If I was an ass trying to be cool on the forums, here is where I would call you a "epic failure"

RoffleChops - I realize I have II in my bungie.net name but it is still very original. How many people have the name ORGASMIC? Not many, so there for it is still original. My GT doesn't have anything wrong with it except that it has the weird capitalization thing.

Some gamertags don't even look bad with a couple X's or II's in them.

It's just preference. Some want numbers, some want X's, some want alternating caps.....

I don't see the problem really. It's not hurting anyone. Though when I see someone with what I like to call a "GooD KiD NaMe" I tend to think we're in for an intense fight ;-)
