I was bored in class about a month ago and I started pondering time travel. After about an hour's worth of doodles and timelines and notes back and forth from the guy next to me, I came to two conclusions:

1.) The harder you think about time travel, the more confusing it can become. You can suddenly realize that something you've already thought of no longer makes sense because of the last thing you just thought of makes more sense but blows the essential idea that supports your new thought out of the water. You start condradicting yourself so much that you're back to your original, basic conclusions.

2.) Time travel is logistically impossible. I forgot why I think that, but I know that at some point it made sense so it probably still makes sense, even if I don't remember it. Nature prevents us from time travelling simply because: a.) it's impossible, so you can't do something that's impossible, unless you could, and then you're messed; b.) even if it was technically possible but logistically impossible, it's too mind-boggling to think about the logistical inequalities involved in doing something so logistically messy.

"Grandfather paradox" basically eliminates same-universe timetravel. There are ideas such as "multiverse" time travel. Did you take those into account?

True, true. I wasn't that bored. I'll get to that some day.
