Subject: Old members disapearing?

Hey everyone, if anyone remembers me >.>... I took a long break from here, and have returned for the time being. I've looked through alot of the forums going on and what not, seems like the forums are growing more and more, but the old members I knew are no where to be found, what happend? I realize Halo 2 is out, and most people are still playing that, and new members are always good, but I miss everyone :'-(. Are the old members just dropping out or whats going on? But I guess leaving for 4-5 months leaves alot of things un-explained, anyone have theories or know what happend to everyone?

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

there are still a few old members, including Recon Number 54, Halo 53, and Eagle 119. Many of the currently actice good members are from a new wave of members, around the time they redid the site I believe. I like to think of myself among this new wave, but only through actions can I really be judged. Yes, I stole that from a fortune cookie.

Well... Bungie did lose a lot of members when Halo came out as well.... I guess it's expected.

Which doesn't really make alot of sense..you would think that since Halo, Halo 2, etc. comes out, they would return to see what new things are in the works, but I guess its reverse psycology in the works.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

I am a sort of old member! I had a different name then though...

I hardly dear(sp) to post in here, because I'm a nO_ob (sorry, but since I'm referring to myself...). Maybe the reason a lot are bugging out is because everyone who has even heard about Halo or Halo 2 sign up and spam the forums with "OMFG WOT WILL HAPN ON FEB 9? MYBE TEH E3 LEVL WIL B AVUILBEBL AS DONLOOD? OMFG!" People tend to get tired of that.

A lot of old members left because they didn't like Microsoft and probably felt like Bungie betrayed them by going to the Xbox and not back to the Mac.

I remember Darkfire, the guy shooting for 1000 posts...

Anyway, the older members gradually leave, and some of them pick up new accounts (like me). But what's really important is if the older guys posted worthwhile things or added to the community. If they did, then it is a sad loss. Otherwise, well, I can't think of anything to put here. Someone fill it in.

Haha..lol, that was when i didnt have a life and was obsessed with halo..but after i found FFXI(Final Fantasy 11 online) i kinda lost interest in Halo 2...but anyways, thats a little off topic.

If old members didn't like the fact that Bungie went to Microsoft then why did they bother to stay around when Halo was out? I mean come on...and I don't think i could see Halo on Mac O.o lol

(Hey banshee!! Your one of the only people that I know of that ive seen around when I used was first around here)

I dont leave, I just get more bitter and angry.

Most of the Bungie.net members left when Bungie was bought out by a certain heartless corporation and the old Bungie.net metaserver closed down.

i bet nobody from the septagon remembers my antics. I used to come here, then the new waves of members hit, and I hid in the darkest corner of the flood, now im contemplating whether its safe to return here.
