know to some out there, this may seem blasphemous,
but was anyone else disappointed with the ending of Halo 2?
I mean, just when it seemed to be getting really good, it takes a turn for the worst (I don't want to give it away)
I really feel cheated and misled.
The first game had closure, great plot twists and a great ending that tied up loose ends, but still left you wanting more. Halo 2 did not accomplish this. If anything, it leaves you feeling empty, like, "what the hell did I spend $60 bucks for and 10 hours of my life doing?"
The game (although has some awesome upgrades from the original) was touted as being great; atleast 20 hours of game play, great graphics, and great new story.
Well, the game fell short in all these areas.
The game seemed too easy (I beat it in 10 hours, and I was going slow).
The cinematics had a lot of rendering problems (often you could see the different layers appear, and in a lot of instances, people would appear second after the scene would begin)
The story (while it has great depth and is interesting) leaves you high and dry.
Which leads me to think....
I got the limited collector's edition (what did I collect again?)
I got a DVD showing Bungie's blundering about making this game. By E3, 2003, they only had a workable demo, and right after that, things seemed to get a little weird.
The whole story was revamped (so they say). And entire parts of the game were re-edited (Why?!) They seemed to be really hard pressed, but I think it would have not been that way without the changes. They seemed to have changed it for some unknown reason.
OR
Could Microsoft and Bungie have realized the gold mine they were sitting on and decided in some dastardly scheme to stretch the profits? Xbox 2 is on it's way and what would be great for one of the new titles? Halo 3? Could they have intentionally left a cliff-hanger such as this to turn a profit.
I love Halo, and I love/hate Halo 2.
Thanks Bungie, for.........?
