"I'm a 40 in Team Spelling, but I have the most worstest time leveling up in Team Superlatives."

With the countdown for Halo 3 at under a month, I think it's time to start paying some homage to Halo 2 for the awesome game it was.

Yes, there were problems...glitchers, cheaters, bugs...

But this was the first console game that truly broke the mold, making all current online games like GoW possible.

This space is dedicated to your favorite memories of Halo 2, whether online, in campaign, or otherwise. I look forward to seeing what everyone posts.

Goodbye Halo 2...we hardly knew ye!

My favorite memory of Halo 2 was playing a custom game over XBL with 8-9 friends. They were two houses down from me, but 1) my wife didn't want me to leave the house (it was super late and we lived in a bad neighborhood) and 2) I liked having my own screen. I got up between games to use the bathroom, and when I came back ALL of my friends were banging on the front door.

"Will! Will! Open up! Are you OK?!"

"Yeah, what's wrong?"

"We thought you were having a seizure."

As it turns out, while I was in the bathroom my wife had been making weird breathing noises into the microphone. They thought I was ill, becasue when they asked what was wrong instead of responding my wife had made even louder/weirder breathing sounds.

That is my favorite Halo 2 moment, because before that incident I was re-enacting the fun of dormroom Halo 1 LANs over the 'net to friends elsewhere. However, but in their temporary panic, they showed me even though I wasn't down at that other house, that my friends were willing to run down a ghetto street at 3am because they cared about me. Right then I realized that although we would later on be separated my greater distances, we could still enjoy the comraderie of games like Halo 2 over XBL. Halo 2's online capabilities had made keeping close to college friends both possible AND fun.

That realization still brings a smile to my face today.

Please post your best memories as well; join me in saying...

"Thank you, Halo 2. "

P.S. Sticky?

There was a man from Allentown who fed his son to death.
He calmly watched him gorge himself until his final breath.
And there he stood, surprised and shocked above his tiny frame.
He said: "I bear no blame for this. I only share his name!"

What makes this one official?

My best Halo 2 moment was when my team of four where in Team Slayer on Gemini. By the time the score was 49 to 47 our lead. The other team started standbying. Luckly my teammate found someone standing still, and killed him, and we won! I'll never forget that day that my team beat standbyers.

Those were the good days...........

The word "OFFICIAL" and Memories spelled with a "Z" should not be in the same title failure.

"I'm a 40 in Team Spelling, but I have the most worstest time leveling up in Team Superlatives."

The "z" was intentional...geez.

Stick to the topic.

i know it was intentional which makes it that much worse.

While the above was my favorite overall moment, I think I would be remiss without mentioning that I played through half of the game the first night. Because of my level of tiredness and the intensity of everything being so unexpected (I didn't know the Arbiter had active camo, so I couldn't sneak past Flood), I had actual literal PTSD flashbacks. At the time, not so cool; in hindsight, freaking awesome.
