Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Often, when cruising through threads with more than one page, I have to go back to the original page to see who the topic starter was. Instead of this, I think it would be advantageous to include the Topic Stater's name in the thread title at the top of each page, below the forum banner (You should see this topic's title listed above the first post on a page, this is where I think such a feature should go).

This would save time, and provide a cleaner, more complete look of the forums.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

I have gotten to the point where I typically right click the reply button and type my replies in a new window or tab. This allows me to switch back and forth, reading not only the OPs or the person to whom I am responding's post, but all other posts in the thread as well as I reply. I'm not so sure how I feel about your idea, but this solution should serve as an adequate way to remedy your confusion for now.

That's a good way of doing it. But unfortunaly I think my pc would be too slow and it would take 5 min to replay. Also sometimes when i try logging on to bnet in multiple windows, it signs my windos live ID out of the original window. Wierd.

I have to agree with the topic maker, whatever his name was. lol

(I rarely reply to the 1st post. I scrole down to read some of the other posts then reply to one of them)

Good, bad, I'm the guy with the clichéd lines.

While I open in new tabs as well I can find it to clutter my tab bar often since after posting I'll continue to browse the forums without closing the previous tab. As of now I have 5 Bungie.net tabs open including this one. I know that it's the fault of me being lazy, but yeah. But I think sites shouldn't rely on people opening something in a new tab. I know some people that just don't like tabs for some reason.

The forums in general for me took some figuring out when I first joined. I'm used to invisionfree forums. And I remember when I first joined it took me awhile to figure out that you had to hit 'reply' under people's name to reply (I thought that was how you quoted people). Additionally it took some time to figure out how to quote and would just use the quote bb code tags until I saw the quote link (you might think I'm not that smart for not seeing it, but when I first came here the site in general I found to be confusing). Also hitting reply only shows the post that you hit reply under. Often times I'll get to the end of a thread and hit reply and then have to go back to reread something. The way invisionfree has it is that it'll have the post box at the top with the page of replies under it.

I'm just saying.. in my opinion I don't think the forums are as newby-friendly as I think it could be.

Edit: Also I dislike how threads with a poll are shown as the poll title and not the thread title.

Edit 2: I just looked at the Eternal Sonata forums and noticed that they have a quote link and a reply link under each post, which would work good and still not deviate too much from what it is now here.

lol I do the same thing. I actually like this way better with tabs. I can keep everything nice and organized.

It took me two years to find that button. True story.

I used to be just lazy and not use it when I first joined bungie.

As for your topic I am confused. Do you mean add the origional post to the top of each page? Or is it the OP's name?
