I got online today for about three hours and I've only played one large map the entire time. The rest was lockout and -blam!- like that. WTF!!! Is this team snipers or team beatdowns. Cause if I'm going to play boxing, then I'll just stop playing snipers in matchmaking alltogether.

Lockout isn't that small.....

Learn to quick scope.

You have Entered the Realm of Truth and Justice...And the truth is, you gotta lose.

LOL...easier said than done! Snipers is a freeking hard as Hallo! match...I am over 40 and you young turks are amazingly fast...Long distance snipes are easier, usually comes down to who the CPU says pulled the trigger first. But the CQ (close quarters) combat is insane...I over correct my reticle and die quickly...I'll usually resort to frags or stickys and switch to br or magnum....But the guys who can keep the weapon at head level and ttrack their victim are some talented kids....Ofcourse it P'zzzz me off when I play Tm Snip and someone has to mod or something in order to win...Had a guy who could alter connection time or something, and leap across the map and assassinate people...made a horrid noise throughout the match.I still ended up leading the losing tm with 11 and the best they did was have a couple at 14..anyways, play the game straight and earn your stripes...

I have learned to no scope very well thanks to small maps, but it is pretty lame that it is like this.

Haha, team beatdowns...

And btw, Lockout is one of the smallest maps in the game.

I'd rather play lockout then half the other maps for team snipers.

You're probably one of those people who only gets kills on other people who don't see you...

Gamertags: defghik, sneaky beav3r. Send me a FR if you play MLG customs.

Sad but true... Halo 1 > Halo 2>>>Halo 3

If it really turns into a beatdown fest, you might want to learn how to quickscope. It really isn't very difficult to do, just put your reticule at head level, then scope in while flicking your reticule in the direction of your opponents head. The auto aim will give you a headshot if you do it correctly.

lockout is one of the best maps to play anything on.

  • 09.02.2007 1:12 PM PDT

snipers on lockout is a good time. Lockout is a big map if you consider everything. Its kinda like ivory tower. it doesnt cover much area but there are so many levels and places to go it makes it big.

My last thread: Why Reach Sucks

<3 Foman

The maps are chosen randomly, you just got a bad series. Just like playing roulette, sometimes you get a lot of reds, and others blacks. Just keep playing to get them all.

  • 09.02.2007 1:41 PM PDT

Its Mistaa that is going to take over Xbox Live!

can some 1 learn me to no scope couse i nly can use the snipers in middem and large maps but with small maps i suck

  • 09.02.2007 1:47 PM PDT

I don't want to be a product of my environment, I want my environment to be a product of me.

you may get lockout a lot one day, and ascension the next, all pretty random.

Two things. First, 8P. Secondly, I could sit here and talk about how I've killed an entire team while all of my team quit out, but it's halo, not the superbowl. So If you don't want to believe me fine, but I'm tired of maps where there's not enough room to snipe and all I can do is play a boxing match with a sniper rifle. I've tried the quickscope and if I had known about it earlier it would have helped, but since this is probably the last few weeks I'll be on H2 then its kind of like learning to steer the car right before hitting the tree at 60 mph.

Yeah, beatdowns in snipers is dumb. So are grenades. Just dumb, you have two snipers...use them!

I've emptied two snipers at a run then had to beat him down for the finish. My main complaint about CQB with snipers is that it feels like I'm moving through jello and can never keep up. at midrange to long I do much better with only a few misses.

Generally it's an advantage to you if your whole team quits and you're left alone in snipes. Hell that's one of my strategys but no one would go along with it, I can probably get to a lvl 50 in snipes despite cheaters if I get a full party that just quits and leaves me in a 1v4.
But snipers in Lockout rarely turns into a boxing match, the question you have to ask yourself is why did you allow your opponent to get that close to you in the first place? I get more beatdowns on large maps since I may not know where everyone is, but on a place like Lockout I pretty much can see the whole map and no one should be able to sneak up on me unless they get a lucky spawn.

i agree on the 1v4, but on the boxing thing apparently I have something that makes the entire other team go crazy aggro and just wants to whip my ass with the butt of their rifle. I usualy try not to move too much, but If my position is given away then that's when I meet the entire other team.

"Just because i dont play halo 24 hours a day, 7 days a week dosent mean i dont have a say on this issue!!! My 48 kill with a BR are legit. Now if i only had maybe 2 kills with it, then you can say something, but 48 means i think i kinda know how a BR works."

~~~~ LOL at Bungie kids that know nothing.
Wow... That is all i have to say to your post. Lockout is the best all-round map for almost any game type that is slayer oriented. Snipers is no exception.
If you are not completely rubbish then Lockout is a lot more then just a beatdown only level. That is actually one of the stupidest things i have ever heard, you complain about a map that has so many different levels and so many different strats.
Quick scope is not what you need to get better at snipers, not being a tool is what you need to do. You will be playing Halo 3 in just 3 weeks time, well if you suck at Halo 2 you will suck in Halo 3. Learn to play the game and not make excuses.
I hate when you people complain about XBL. Imagine all of us poor suckers out there that don't have good enough conections so we just troll the forums waiting for morons like you to post. Wow, you fail. Take the legendary emblem off, you do not deserve it.
The main advantage to Lockout is that Host dosent always have the advantage because of the range. Try sniping someone across Relic, Coagulation or Containment. On maps like Lockout there are limited places to hide, try playing the campfest on Zanzibar or Terminal. On those maps the campers always win.
especialy if they spawn in the hive, and id have to say i dispise lockout for any type of sniping(unless im the only one with a sniper), id much rather play on a map like coagulation, there are good places to hide, and you can see most points on the map, you can scan the map to find your enemies, so its almost like you cant camp at all
