Through deep investigation of the Covenant's religious beliefs, I have concocted a Covenant Religious Statue and a theory containing a possible storyline for Halo 2. To begin, I will discuss the religious beliefs of the Covenant in a "religious fashion" if you will. The majority of these documents I have written are made up, but have the Covenant will inside it.

The Covenant Religious Statute: Translated into modern english
Written in a Covenant member's point of view.

Through our time, we have peacefully inhabited numerous planets across our side of the galaxy. Our ancestors, the Forerunners, have given us the priveliges and responsibilities that we now possess today. Although our Leaders have passed away centuries ago, their artifacts remain scattered across our galaxy, and lie untouched since Their time.

The Forerunners have given us the following privileges:

* Live together peacefully with races of our own kind
* Have the freedom to do things without constant surveillance
* Live in worlds with protection beyond impervious
* Have the Prophets, the gateway between us and our Leaders, live amongst us
* The freedom to take up our own gun and fight for what we believe in

Along with privileges, they also gave us responsibilities. They are as follows:

* Live up to the Prophets expectations
* Respect each race as if it were to be your own
* Fight for what we have given you (we is reffering to the Forerunners)
* Never let our artifacts go forsaken or be destroyed

With a final statement marked from the Forerunners, we must always live on this phrase:

"MAY THE DOWNFALL OF THE COVENANT NEVER OCCUR DURING THE GRAINS OF TIME."

Possible Storyline For Halo 2

As we all know, there is another ringworld containing the Flood, and the Covenant discovered the location of Earth. This storyline that I am now explaining has been created off the statute that was located above. Now, a possible theory for the Covenant's reasoning to declare a Holy War against mankind is as follows:

Since the Covenant are so desperate to uncover the many Forerunner artifacts that lay scattered amongst the galaxy, they are willing to do whatever it takes to lay their hands on them. Possible, the Earth contains a Forerunner artifact somewhere in the New Mombasa, East African Protectorate region (the level shown in the Halo 2 E3 2003 real-time demonstration). This would mean the Covenant would have to land on Earth without harming the artifact (as proven in the First Strike where the planet it molting in fire except for the specific region where the Covenant artifact was hiding). A way to back this theory up is if you look at the banner of New Mombasa (just look above this post), you will see the definition, it says, "East African Megalopolis, historically part of the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya. Now all but destroyed.

Now that that's over with, what do you think about this Statute and theory? Please post you thoughts upon these topics. (Please, no stupid posts like "It sucked" or "You wasted your time." In other's words, no flaming please).

Driven to distraction. ^_^

Just finished reading First Strike today. The trailer with MANY elites being dropped into New Mombasa coupled with the Covenants actions at Reach made me think the same thing. Maybe there is an artifact on Earth that the Covenant want, otherwise why wouldn't they just glass the entire planet and avoid sending in troops?

now good possibility for a story line but you do realize that the covenant are a made up group of aliens created by some video game designers (Bungie)

that theory was good, but why would the covies attack earth when they could get some flood and let em loose on Earth? it sounds like sumthin the covenant would do.......................................that'd suck though................the flood would get a really big meal.......................

Assault on the Control Room
Part 03: If I had a Super Weapon...

Cortana: The Covenant found something, buried in this ring, something horrible, and now...they're afraid.

The covenant don't want to even get near the covenant. As stated above, they are afraid of them. So therefore, they won't bring the flood from another halo installation and annhialate the human race.

What'd be the point of that? The Covenant would have too much trouble trying to obtain whatever they wanted to off Earth if they'd already released The Flood. Remember, they had plenty of trouble themselves in Halo CE.

the covies might not be looking for something on earth, they may just want it outta the way.....................the elites are pretty brave though, brutes just do what they're told.................the elites might wanna go war hero and try to take Earth themselves...........there are just too many factors

Maybe. But the elites are supposedly loyal so they wouldn't go and do that. Of all the reaces, either the hunters or the brutes would do that.

In my opinion, the covenant do want something on Earth. probably an ancient forunner artifact. and I think the prophets know more than the other races, and are using them for a deeper purpose....
