Well I love Halo but for the last two to three months I have had a problem with the game saying gathering exception data - I have a pretty good system (amd 3000+ xp - 512 ram - 128 graphics) - and I thuoght that the answer was no where in sight - I even believed it to be bungies fault some how!!!

well after posting loads of posts and reading others I decided to buy a top system that would kope - latest intel board with extreme edition chip etc. and obviously to make some of the money back on my system I thought well I need to sell the parts off.

Well today I got my new cpu and motherboard and was over the moon that I would get to play games on a steady system again so I started cleaning my amd to re-sell on ebay - which I am still gonna do - anyway I must have cleaned a tun of dust out of there as it has tuns of fans on it, it sucks loads of dust in - and yep guess what I found out!!!!!

There was my problem DUST!! now halo runs gust as well as it did the day I bought the system!! - so I'm not telling my wife that the system can now handel all my high end needs - and keeping the new kick ass system so that halo looks even better!! lol

so if you are or ever will have problems with halo in this manner just take a hoover to your pc and give it a clean out especially the fan on the cpu!- the system needs to be a cold as pos but dust just does not help!!

I hope this helps all those stranded out there

I once had a laptop that i loved played Warcraft3TFT in.Then after about 6 months it started blowing air out that was very very hot.It was unexpected because it never happened before.I was sure it was dust and i checked at best buy.(where i bought the computer) They said it was a dust problem and would be best if the company took care of it.When bestbuy got the laptop back from the company, the company said they could not fix the problem. And i was 90% sure if was dust.Well whatever it was, i got my laptop traded in for a bit cheaper and much better laptop. So if it wasent for dust, i wouldent have this much better laptop i use now =]

Thank you Dust!

EDIT: Did i mention the computer suddenly turned off? yeah it turned out that the heating was so intense it had to Automatically turn off...Which really ticked me off..

Thats why you see there are those silly looking can of air spray being sold at computer stores. They're your friends. It also helps to have your fans blowing out of the case, not into the case.
