Subject: I Like Halo 2 Vista

Gaming Systems:
Intel Core i7 720QM (4 cores, 8 threads)
4Gb DDR3-1333mhz
1Gb AMD Radeon HD 4650
Windows 7 64bit

Xbox 360 w/ 20Gb HDD (2008 edition) & XBL Gold.

I like Halo 2 in it's PC incarnation. I like Windows Live. I like Tray & Play functionality. I like the Campaign. I like the Multiplayer, though not as much as the Campaign would you believe. I like the menu systems. I like the visuals, not the lacking of uber-next-gen fidelity, but just the style of graphics. I like the drama. I like the game.

...does this make me a bad person?

I'm tall, white, and male. Therefore I am automatically the bad guy.

This is the strangest thing to ever happen to me while playing Halo.

ah yes. Another thread where everyone that bought H2V heartily agrees that they're all smiles and rainbows about their well thought out purchase. Wish I could participate :'(

O_O Holy crap am i SEEING THIS? People are agreeing with me here?!

ZOMGFFSWTFBBQHTMLROFLWTHLMFAO?

*prays to Bungie Forums, on knees, bowing with reverance*

I have been saved! FFS i've been using Gamespot forums far too long. So many kids whinging about their -blam!-e systems not running well, so many noobs complaining that it's not made-in-Sony. So many tw4ts telling me i'm a pimp (? O_o) for getting Vista at all, never mind this game. Thing is I had Vista before i really even started getting hyped for this game. Now i have both, i'm extremely satisfied with what Hired Gun have produced.

One little thing i'd like to ask all of you. Will there be a patch released for this game or not?

I laugh at the way everyone with on Gamespot "claims" to have insane hardware (8800's, 2Gb of RAM, Core 2 CPUs, et cetera) but getting choppy framerates on Halo 2 Vista. Well here's a thing, i have:

Intel Celeron 336 Model CPU ~2.8Ghz
1Gb DDR-400 RAM.
Nvidia 128Mb 6200 Graphics Card.

You could say i'm scraping the bottom of the barrel with a PC and those specs. It runs Vista well enough, but maybe not for games, that's understandable. However i still get 20fps+ on average using the Low settings. Considering i'm using "The minimum" spec'd computer they state will run that game, that ain't half bad. With an upgrade to a 7600GT, i'm sure i'll be running this at least at Medium settings with no problems.

So why the whinging from Gamespot users? Oh yea wait, i forget, 90% population under 12 there...opps my bad.

Thanks for that guys, i really REALLY needed it.

I like the game, it's just that the community right now is too small for me to REALLY like the game.

I haven't really given this game enough chance online. Does anyone know how many copies of this game have sold so far? Wait...that might be a stupid question. I'll try a new one: Does anyone know roughly how many users are playing Online MP Halo 2 Vista, at peak time?

With Halo PC the highest it ever got was about 5000 users online at any time, if i recall. These days it's down to about 2000 at any time. How about Halo 2 Vista is what i ask?

Currently not enough. Peek times vary, there aren't too many players, but too many places. I'd guess you can get around 300 max in GFWL at once.

I like Windows Live.
I like it too, but I think it's in need of some serious work where it is right now.
Posted by: Master_Dragon
I like Tray & Play functionality.
The concept has merit, but I think one is better off just installing the game the old fashioned way, damn it! What's wrong with it? Perhaps I'm the only one who thinks this, but if you're not smart enough or don't have the patience to spend a few minutes installing a PC game, then I don't think I want you to play it online in the first place.

I like the Campaign.
All a matter of opinion; despite some short-comings and disappointments, I liked it myself.
Posted by: Master_Dragon
I like the menu systems.
I'm not too comfortable with an interface built around a gamepad; I wish they made it utilize the mouse and keyboard more. When Halo 2 was announced for the PC and everybody still had hope for it, I thought it would be great if Halo 2 optimized the UI for the mouse, such as right-clicking a player's name in a lobby which would open up options to view Gamercard, boot player, etc.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

Exactly Kim, the reason people like halo pc is well because it's halo at it's core and people are more willing to get over the crappy port job gearbox did and the port job is much worse than h2v.

I don't want to side track the topic here, but at least Gearbox added in new content and more maps exclusive for the PC?

I don't mind his opinion, because it's an opinion, and everybody's entitled to one. And he's honest.
