I dont know why people would want to take the cursing out of halo, it adds to the expierience and makes the game that much more kick ass, without it it wouldnt be as realistic. No offense to anyones religion, its just what i think

Lemme know what you think.

Halo was rated Mature by the ESRB. That means that you have to be 17 or older to play it. Now, I'm sure that Bungie considered making Halo a Teen rated game, but when it comes down to it, Halo is a game designed to be played by adults. I'm an adult, and I think that there's nothing funnier than a marine standing over a corpse and screaming 'That's right you p**** mother ******!' So yes, please bring the language and dismemberment and whatever else you can, Bungie, because that s*** is entertaining!

I don't mind it, and i wouldnt care if it were gone. Im with anything Bungie decides to do with it. If they want to put the f word in it, im happy, if they take all curse words out of it (which im pretty damn sure wont happen) im happy with it. Its the Gameplay that makes up the majority of a good game.

You people complain too much about langauge. Next thing we'll hear from you will be that the Grunts are too short or that there are too many naked AIs in the game(shame on that 343 Guilty Spark!) and such. I mean damn, what does it matter? The game is gonna be rated M for Mature, meaning those that are mature enough to handle all of the games content. It will not be T for those that can't take a little harsh language that is common in war and society.

I couldn't care less. Bungie does a good job of sticking to cool insults without swearing. It's just like Star Wars or any other cool movie of the genre.

There are times however that profanity is just perfect. "I guess the brass really do give a crap" from the e3 2003 video just wouldn't have that same dejected tone to it that the more profane language possesses.

If halo 2 has too much cursing, it wont have the same feel as halo did. halo did a fine job with that stuff. it would not be wise to ask for it to be changed.

In war, do Marines yell, "Oh fiddlesticks" when they get shot. Or "What the fudge?" No, unless they're French....

the ESRB was high when it rated the first halo M. halo2 has good reason, though. lots more blood.

Well, i dont know, i ve never been in war, and i doubt you have either. And frankly, i dont think the guys in Bungie have either, and I could be wrong, but i doubt it. The key is this: too much cursing will ruin the game, trust me, play chronicles of Riddick, way too much cursing, it doesnt seem as much fun when a guys yelling " You dont wanna know what the **** im gonan do to you when i get my f***ing hands on you you little b***** " Ok, sure its 'realistic' but, how realistic is Halo in the first place?

swearing is funny in halo, i was sayingjust the other day to my invisible friend how much bettter the experience would be with more swearing and exhausted screams and battlecrys. mmm. but halos the kind of game where it is, at the core, really fun, so if u had like... dismemberment it'd be a bit too 'full of itself' whereas a bit of ragdoll physics never hurt anyone. apart from the ded AI. splat. mmmm poo goes splat.

If I remeber correctly, Unreal Championship had a way to turn off the vulgar taunts after you lit somebody up. Maybe Halo2 will have the same feature to appease those of us who prefer not to hear the swearing.

i personally can't wait to hear what kind of creative, colorful metaphors bungie has come up with. and if they contain the dreaded "F word" then so be it. i just hope they don't rely on using it for a shock effect. a lot of games seem to do that nowadays, and they don't work. good cursing is an art form. they've got to have the right flow. and flavor. and style. and i think bungie's capable of delivering. i'd be more than happy to offer up some suggestions of my own if needed.

swearing in halo honestly i dont care i think it would be funny to have some f bombs dropped if it was appropriate for the situation. and if people dont want to hear it there should be a toggle switch to turn it off like in perfect dark

Or like in XIII.
In the military it's normally something like NCO's and officers are allowed to swear but Privates cant, unless theyr'e in a really hot situation.

Is it just me or in Halo 1 do the grunts yell "Fu@k You!!" ?? Also I heard in the last level at the end, right after you stop on the bridge and wait for your ride that never comes, you can find a covie off in a corner saying a bunch of cus words. I never found him though, but didn't try much.

The only game I have ever seen or played rated worse then M was Conker's Bad Fur Day and that was rated NC 17. I still don't know why it was rated NC-17 because I completely beat the game and never saw anything extreme.

But if Halo has excessive cursing it would probably be rated NC-17. And it will probably sell alot less. So I am guessing there will be nothing worse then sh1t.
