Ok so they AI can drive now, but does anyone know if it is possible to choose. Like in the E3 2003 video, can you choose to drive the worthog or can you only man the gun? Do you have any ability to choose how the game plays?

The last man on Earth sat in a room, there came a knock at the door.

Service Record

I had a dream that you couldn't do that, but that was just a dream, not a premonition...hopefully. Most likely you will be able to get them out like in HALO with the gunner and passenger.

If Bungie only allowed AI to drive, they would take half the fun that the original had. Let's hope the creators are smart enough to realize this. My guess is that they are... I mean look at what they have done w/ Halo 2 that we know of. Nothing short of geniuses, the creators are.

There's nothing to say that you couldn't have instead walked up and kicked the driver out of his seat and driven the warthog yourself.

There's also no reason you couldn't just decide to run off on foot and walk through the level.

Halo2 is supposed to be all about options.

That makes more sense, but even if a marine come to pick you up, I'm sure that you will be able to kick him out. Sometimes it's just more fun to drive and to control the battle environment that you are entering.

i dont know about the level at E3, but you will definately be able to drive Every other car. If players chose to drive the warthog at E3, they would be killed by the Brute. Bungie has a way of working everything out.

The only way you would be killed by a brute is if you are stuck on some invisable track. And who says it would kill you, maybe it just knocks you out? I am looking for options, that is what i think would make the game great. So what happens when you don't jump on the ghost at the end? how does the cut scene work? I think there will be options!

I have thought of this too. did you notice that at the begining, there are like 5 different ways to go. and what if you took the warthog on a different path, and what if you got in the warthog after the marines were killed? Im going insane........

Yeah, you might... Bungie hasn't made any hints about how those paths will be insured, unless all of those separate paths only lead to that one, after all kinds of blocks to guide you the correct way.

The E3 demo was to show off what Bungie had to offer in 2003. It's not the EXACT level design. The real level will probably be similar but i doubt the same. Too short for what they have told us how big the levels are going to be (3x the size of AOTCR).

im 110percent sure that you will b able to drive cuz i read that the halo levels in halo 2 will b up to 5 times the size of the levels of halo 1 and that most levels will involve vehicles and if u couldnt drive the ai would do like a third of the game for you

I hope the driving isn't scripted. Just that the marines have to get you to a destination. i hope Its random how you get there.

In the halo 2 documentary they say that they gave the AI waypoints and let the AI choose it route to those waypoints

I go around the world leaving a path of destruction in my wake. When I come to a city, grown men cry and women wail. I collect the skulls of my enemies and display them for all to see.........I also kick puppies. For fun.

i think Spanky hit it on the nose. The 2003 demo was to show off new features, and it wouldnt be exciting for fans to watch some Bungie employee drive around in a warthog for eight minutes.
