Okay, one question before I goto bed.

I'm thinking of making a rather simple shirt of my gamer tag with the front pretty much just looking like this:

T H A T
H A L O
G I R L

I was just curious if I needed to add the Rights Reserved symbol after Halo. I probablly do, hmm?

Thanks for viewing.

To Whom It May Concern,

Yeah probably, but only if you use the Halo logo, (the way its specifically written on the game case) That's the reserved image. Not the word halo.

Good luck with the shirt, there are some great places that will make you great shirts.

Another good place is near Military bases (Marines LOVE custom shirts)

Thank you for your time today.

Heh, thanks for responded. Depending on whatelse I want on the shirt will determine where I make it.

No. I mean if you are just going to make a shirt for yourself then...Don't worry about copyright issues.

To Whom It May Concern,

I forgot that...Stosh is right, so long as you don't sell anything or make a profit in anyway from something your not violationg copyrights, (there is a loop hole, if you make the exact same thing that they themselves produce a.k.a. Halo 2 pirated edition. You are violating even if you don't sell it, and they can take you to court).

Thank you for your time today.

This is what we like to call "fair use".

It's still probably technically illegal. But no one is going to sue you.

It'd be pretty lame to be sued over that. Probably'd end up costing the plaintiff more money than they would gain.

So is it if we just don't make any profit that Bungie doesn't really care, or is profitless distribution also ok? ei. If someone makes a shirt with Bungie owned logos and makes a few for their friends but makes no profit, would that be ok? (<- strictly hypothetical for future reference)

I don't think they'd ever notice/care, unless you were distributing dozens/hundreds/thousands all around the country. I can't see 4-5 being of any concern.

To Whom It May Concern,

Look guys, if you really really want to know and be okay to make a shirt, ask them. Write an email to Bungie and ask them to. If they say yes print and save the email and you now have permission from the owner of it to use it (but only in the way that you asked or that they specify, its not cart blanch). Profitless distribution is technically illegal IF if crosses a state boarder (there may be more laws about it that's the one I know). And I'm pretty sure Bungie will let you make shirts and hats and necklaces. But making a shirt and giving it to friends is the same as making a wall paper of the Master cheif and emailing it to buddies.

Thank you for your time today.

Can we get that in writing with your signature under it? :-)

I highly suggest using CafePress. As long as you know some basic Photoshop/imaging software, it's really easy to have them create your own shirt. There're many styles to choose from, too. I use CafePress all the time for my creative needs. ^_^
