With the release of Halo 2 I watched Halo 1 slowly die away. Even so I still lan H1 at least once a month because it's so much damn fun, and you can typically find an XBC game if you try. But with less than a month to go before the release of Halo 3 I am almost certain Halo CE is going to be obsolete in everyone's head. Here's to the greatest LAN game ever made.

I don't think that Halo CE will ever die. Yes the number of users will drop sharply when Halo 3 comes out, but they will be back. After people figure out the different ways of cheating in Halo 3 they will come back to Halo CE. Halo CE rocks too much to ever die completely.

I like me.

Don't you know? Spartans never die.

Yeah, they just get really lost or really wounded.

CE will never die until all the copies are wiped from existance.

I still play campaign, and do a few lans whenever I feel like it. Not lik eit will die or anything.

If anybody was going to forget about a Halo game it would be H2. It hasn't held up as well as Halo: CE. MM is practically unplayable these days and the campaign, though still very good, isn't as fun as CE was.

R.I.P Halo CE? I say ney. But a viking funeral for Halo 2.

Agreed. I mean no disrespect for halo 2 but halo 3 will replace it in every way. Everything that it did well Halo 3 will do as good or better. Whereas Halo 1 is more a classic in it's own right.

Halo CE's not going anywhere. I hope I'm wrong but I still don't expect H3's campaign to be on par with HCE's funability even with the 4 player online co-op.

Hello, my name is Hideo Kojima. I’m from Japan. You can tell by my name. Um… I don’t know much English, and Hell, I didn’t even study English! But anyways, Mark Cierpikowski, one of my good friends from America asked me to write this useless introduction. Now… how do I know Mark? Well, let’s just say we were in the same AOL -blam!- Chat room, talking to some local -blam!-s from Canada. And, from there, we just, you know, got connected. We didn’t do anything… you know, but, yeah, Mark was cool. As you know, I just finished my awesome MGS game: Metal Gear Solid 4: This Game Officially Explains What The -blam!- Happened To The Storyline. And it sold 5 copies, so you know, I’m pretty happy about myself. Anyways, about this introduction. Mark is a wise man. He’s very cute too. I mean, he’s in that basement hours at a time. Mark was nice to me though, and he respects Japanese people, so that’s cool. Now, you’re probably wondering how I know this much English, hmm? Well, let’s just say I have a very sexy English translator, Enrique, right next to me. Ok, so read the book… it’s very good. I mean it. It’s that good. I mean, if it has Hideo Kojima doing the introduction, then this book has to be good, right? Right? Oh, whatever, just read this useless book, and just let me go back to my AOL -blam!- Chat rooms! And buy MGS4: TGOEWTFHTTS! Or else! Thanks, and goodbye, Tamari-San!

I have a PC, Halo 2 vista is no good, so I'll be playing Halo CE till the day Halo 3 for PC comes out. It's still alive! :D

And what's the point of the post above me? Is it advertising?

Halo: Combat Evolved...the legend that started it all...the game that will go down in history as the beginning of the greatest series of games in the world.... May it stay in the minds of gamers until the day we die...but when that happens, Halo won't be dead, Halo will die with the world...and then it will come up to us and with our souls, where it will remain forever. For Eternity.

This website was specifically built to study and contain Bungie disciples including myself. Our survival as a race is dependent upon it. I am grateful to see that some of us survived to reproduce.

Cheers to the one and only, My ol friend Halo Ce... I love you man, Thanx for the memories. May you live foreva.

PS Im still going to play you from time to time, and just a suggestion, try and get the big boys at MS to make a Handheld Xbox with you as the flagship app, that would be awsome, then we could spend a lot more time togather.

I plan on h3 being a dissappointment because i think bungie has forgotten what made their original great, so i wont be laying my h1 to rest. H3 would have to absolutely blow me away for me to completely stop playing h1 and from what ive seen it looks like it wont.

No, Halo 1 will never die, even with the release of Halo 3. Granted, I'll probably not play Halo 1 for quite a few months, but it'll always stay in my collection.

Well, I just got the original Halo (for the Xbox) less than a month ago, so....it's not dead for me. I'm not even finished with it yet. It's actually harder and longer than I anticipated, and the graphics don't look all too bad for a game that's 6 years old. I can see people getting into this game a few years from now the same way that someone may get into Diablo or Baldur's Gate, just because they heard it was a great game.

Pffft....I'll still play it. I hate Halo2 and I play every fortnight (LAN) bit 5 other guys. I even bought more copies just the other week because I've worn my origional out!

No way man. It'll never die. Look at XBL arcade and how many 1000's are on that!

Besides, new people will buy Halo3 having never played the Halo series, then they'll go and buy the other 2 to get the trilogy.

Unfortunate H2 is in there, but hey.....what can we do! Even Bungie hated it! LOL!

  • 09.10.2007 2:37 AM PDT

I'll still play it for the gametype I just posted!
