I bought a halo book called "the fall of reach" and it tells all about M.C.'s life. not too far into the book Lt. (later known as Captain) Keyes is with a woman at a school playground and the woman has an Operatation: SPARTAN where she plans kidnaping (for a good cause) 40 somthin' kids the one she is focused on at the moment is six-year-old John soon to be known as Spartan 117 (Master Chief). She and Lt. Keyes take the 40 kids to UNSC camp somewhere in space where they will undergo 10 years of painfull surgeries and harsh training so that they can get their Mjolnr armor and be called spartans at age 15. More than half of the children died and became vegetables in Operation: Spartan and years later the rest of them died except for John defending Reach (human-inhabited planet similar to Earth).

He called you a n00b. The book is old, go away. He enjoys the third book in the series 'First Strike', because it has some very cool moments.

Also, his name is John. It's revealed in H2 if you don't read the books that his numbers are One-One-Seven.

He's saying just because the book YOU just read has information on the MC doesn't mean it's "IMPORTANT" The book has been out for YEARS. Thousands of people already know this, this isn't an "IMPORTANT ARTICLE." Therefor "OMG n00b thatsd SO OLD GO AWAY!" = "We all knew this already, go away."

Well he's dead now so it doesn't really matter.

And about your argument on how we were all noobs once, although that statement is true theres such a thing as a smart n*** and a stupid n***. The smart n**** actually take the time to search through the forums to find out if their information has already been discussed.

Ace_Mkvenner. I have to agree with your point about the Space Marines. I frequently freely interchange the two terms (Space Marine and Spartan) when talking to my friend who's really into 40k when explaining the game (though generally space marine, as it could be a more general term). Though of course genetically enhanced super warriors are actually a Sci Fi staple, so i wouldnt say the Spartans are a copy of the Space Marines, and i have to say that the spartans are better (a space marine cant flip a 60 ton tank for instance, and they dont understand the technology they are using).
