Subject: This game is DEAD.....playability rots

I have played 987 games of Halo 2. The last several months of matchmaking have sukT severely. Bad respawn points, "button glitches", "super-jumps", weird connections/lag/standby/"altered" connections, and level "cracks" have all ruined my experience with Halo 2 multiplayer. THANK GOD FOR HALO 3!!!

I hope to see N-O-N-E of these game-ruining afflictions in Halo 3. I hope Bungie's years of work has paid off this time, especially with all the "testing" phases of the past.

Anyone feel the same?

To me, it seems H2 is going down the drain with all these "weird" stuff with H3 nearing its release

Well if you only played 987games, then you must've started playing late. The only people playing left are jerks.

What fries me is seeing people with lame connections or poor ping twitching across my screen and killing me because my hits aren't registering. Bungie should be able to code out glitches (buttons, bounces) if they wanted to and not reward people with slow connections. Quake 3 used to penalize people with slow connections so I can't understand why Halo seems to reward them.

I'm hooked on SWAT because it seems the players there are less "jerk" like...as evidenced by matchmaking pre-talk...SWAT has tended to be much less riddled with the junior high "you're -blam!-" or "you suck"...like I used to find constantly in BTB. I'm still playing and am definitely a late bloomer on live since I used to play exclusively in LAN's or just split screen with buddies not wanting to pay to play. The ability to find a match any time though makes the inconvenience or annoyances of glitches, etc. a small price to pay. When the falcons land I'm on halo 3 but until then it's just old skool for me...good news I'll pick up H3 for $30-40 when it's surely gone platinum and maybe even another hardware price cut and relibility upgrade!

lol I broke my disk because of the missed beat downs. I believe the beat down issue has gotten much worse since the latest update and I wonder if thats intentional or because of the anti cheating stuff Bungie added. I personally liked when you got standbyed every 1 out of 3 games but the rest of the time your beat downs connected.

I don't get much crap, just I have not played that much lately, during the summer I played quite a bit, but before I had not played for a year. I have played ever since the 9th of November, 2004.

And yet it is still the most played LIVE game from the original Xbox console. No, it isn't dead.

I still play just about everyday, and so do 15 or so other friends. Why do people complain about the game and how its not good anymore just stop playing it's simple.

Made an account in 2006. Visited Bungie.net in 2005. Joined Xbox Live in 2005. It's amazing to see how the site, Bungie, and Halo have evolved over the years. Utterly amazing.

Back in the day, I could play customs as much as I wanted and generally stay out of matchmaking. Life was fun when I could say "Hey I want to play some 4v4 MLG with some people I know" and could have all the people assembled for it and be playing in a few minutes.

Now though there's only one or two people playing Halo 2 on my buddy list maximum. If anyone still plays customs anymore please send me an invite on caRESERVOIRpn.

Oh god, I remember those Halo 2 all nighters in 2004 and 2005. The new 9 maps made it a bit better. But then something weird happened. It just seems to suck now. Basically, the fun factor has kind of disappeared. After playing the Halo 3 beta with it's amazing balance of weapons and NO cheating, I see why Halo 2 is losing it's popularity. Mods, superjumps, the stupid BXR glitches or whatever you call them. I'm ashamed with those that ruined a once perfect online game.
