Hi I just thought I'd say hello as I've just bought the game ( it came today) and am presently working my way through it. I really enjoyed Halo: Combat Evolved but it's taken me a while to catch up with the new title. I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far, Master Chief is back to what he does best! I have to admit that I thought the graphics could have been better but hey it's no big deal. When I first ran the game I found I was getting a little 'tearing' so I forced Vsync on in my driver settings and that fixed it no problem. Currently I'm playing the Covenant character looking for the 'Heretic'. So please, no spoilers...:) As for loading the game up and playing, there's been no problems really apart from the 'tearing mentioned. When I first tried to install the game I chose the option to install and play later. This gave me an error with the online activation .exe and the install had to be aborted. So I tried again with the option of installing and then playing ( I'd read on this site that 'Tray and Play' was not recommended) with success. See you round the forum...:D

Well, I really enjoy reading these threads for a change! First of all, it's positive people, and it's intellegent people. As opposed to 'z0mg, whY dit bugio incled tat 4rbitar guy??!!!!!' written by those stuck on grade 9 applied math. Of course people have a right to express concerns/problems/queries about a game, but if more of them were written like this one, 'The Maw' would once again become, well, the old 'The Maw'. Which kicked New Mombasa's ass.
Anyway, glad to know your enjoying the trilogy of Halo. And goodluck getting through the rest.

Thanks for the kind hello's. I'm loving this game! The combat definately has a style all of it's own, which I just love. I like playing F.E.A.R too which also has a very stylised combat. As I mentioned in my first post, this is the first time I'm playing the game and I've now got to the point where Master Chief has just landed on the second Halo ring....Awesome. The only 'minor' hitch if any is the sound quality. When a message comes over the 'radio' from Cortana or whoever it can sound quite distorted. I've got a Sound Blaster Audigy card with the latest drivers and I reduced the output to 16bit/44.1KHz from 24bit/96KHz. This did improve it slightly but at times is still quite distorted. Any idea's? (My rig is is in my sig) Apart from that the game runs great, perhaps its something I'll just have to live with? I do know that Creative's Vista drivers aren't up to scratch yet although you can 'buy' the improved versions for Vista (Basically, so you can use Eax again) . I'm sure you can guess what my answer to that would be.... 'Buy' drivers? You have got to be kidding me! Any how I'm sure those drivers would fix my prob but as it's no biggie I'll wait until you can get them for free.Right, I'm off to play some more of this game....:D

Frog Blast the Vent Core!

It's pretty hard for me to understand the Halo 2 radio transmissions, too. I guess they're just lower quality than others.
