Freedom of Speech does not equal "Freedom from Consequences when one speaks".
It is a right, and all rights have responsibilities associated with them. Ignore the responsibility, and you tend to lose the right.

I'll give you my take on the "MLG" issue, based upon many games in MM, and also what I've read here on the Forum. There's no question that once MLG is mentioned in a thread, it becomes a magnet for all kinds of hate and anger.
I think it boils down to two main issues, stemming from the fact that MLG has a real PR problem. I'm not saying that all those who participate in MLG are like this, but the VOCAL ones, here and in MM, are argumentative, incredibly arrogant, and trash talk something fierce when they win a game in MM. They are hated to the same degree as KSI, and for largely some of the same reasons.
I know MLG players are generally more skilled than most other players, but once you reach a certain arbitrary subset of skills, the only thing that continues an individual's continued rank upwards is a superior connection, teamwork and button-glitching, some or all of which MLG players use or have. Now, button-glitching is fine for LANs, customs, and tournaments, but the problem is that MLG players (and others as well) use these techniques in MM. Forgive me for using caps, but I would like to emphasize this: THERE IS NO AGREEMENT AHEAD OF TIME WITH ALL PLAYERS, THAT BUTTON-GLITCHES ARE OK IN MM. There is only one reason to use button-glitches, and that's to gain an advantage over an opponent. Against someone not employing their use, this advantage is unfair if it is not understood/agreed upon that glitching in that game is acceptable.
Also, if confronted with the issue that glitching is illegal according to Bungie's rules, MLG players again become argumentative, claim that the only people who complain have "no skill", or say that, "MLG says they're OK." Again, not endearing themselves to other gamers.
Another argument I hear from MLG gamers is that they only use glitches "three or four times per game". Well, if you do the math, if there are one or two MLG players on a team against others in MM who AREN'T, that equals a win by at least somewhere between four and eight points. Such a small advantage is all it takes, but certainly doesn't give a player the right to trash talk someone else who chooses to play a game by rules given by the game designer.
I'll be so glad in a few days when H3 is here. Yes, MLG will play H3, but much of the advantages they enjoyed in H2 will be gone, and many players will get a HUGE reality check. Maybe not all of them are as good as they thought they were?
