You clearly are a MLG player, your tone and your "im better than you at HALO 2!" gives a good impression of MLG.

Immature and stupid.

Please don't make that judgement on a BAD stereo type.

The "MLG Players" you see in matchmaking/hear about, either are the minority of MLG players, some kids that are saying they are "in" MLG just to give them a bad name, or to just be annoying. The serious MLG players rarely play in Matchmaking. They (me included) prefer custom games. Serious MLG players like MLG FFA and the teams prefer to play against other MLG teams. MLG teams don't like the idea of playing in Matchmaking and do it if they really need practice before and event or something (from my experience with watching my brother and his team). When they do play in Matchmaking, they don't trash talk people unless provoked.

From my experience, those that complain about MLG/button glitches are just frustrated at loosing (be it a low spell or them not being good) or getting cheating in Matchmaking and lump it all under "MLG/Button Glitching."

Finaly a MLG thread that is halfway tame.

Quoted for Truth.

You honestly hit the nail on the head OG Fastforward. Thank you for the intelligent (and 100% correct) post.

Thank you for the intelligent (and 100% correct) post.

I'm only up to about 50%. The other 50% is pure BS. :(

Your posts? Nah, your posts were pretty spot on, especially the ones on your ratios and such. I just felt his post was .......kinda what we're all trying to say, but can't because everyone wants to get a word in.

I think people who are "Anti MLG" just need to give it a chance and see what it's about, or just let MLG players be. I don't see why there has to be animosity towards MLG players (and on the same token animosity toward non-MLG players.)

The problem is both sides think they're right. However, I notice the trend to jump on MLG players for "cheating" and "having no lives." I rarely see an MLG player call someone out, most of the times MLG players are called out first.

I just wish we could all play the game we want. I mean, we do, but if you say you're an MLG player you're automatically given a label, one which certainly isn't deserved nor "earned."

Not to be rude, but the extremely large majority of anti-BR, anti-MLG, and anti-button glitching kids are all bad at this game.

Fail.

Kids? No, kids button glitch and cheat.

Bad? No, just at a DISADVANTAGE because of the GLITCHERS.

got it? Good.

MLG Sucks, glitchers suck, but i do quite like a BR match, they are more fun that say SMG starts.

Your a 9. You have no argument.

  • 09.06.2007 1:38 PM PDT

I didn't read every post in this thread but I doubt it has been said. I hear so much "If MLG is so good why do they allow the use of button glitches like BxR and BxB and RRX?". The answer is simply because they don't look at it as a glitch, they look at it like it is part of the game. "Us" MLG players look at it like just another feature in the game.

I also hear alot of "It gives people who use it an unfair advantage". Not really because almost everybody uses them. If you have a 4v4 game going and everybody is using them where is this unfair advantage? I'm sorry to tell you guys but people who think button glitching is cheating are in the minority. I've played around 18,000 games combined from all my accounts and have to say that i've heard people complain about it a whopping two times.

About this whole "People who don't do them suck!" thing.... its a bit true. Now im not saying everybody is who doesn't is bad but everytime I checked somebody's stats that claims button glitching is cheating was about a level 23 with like 400 games played.

Last I would like to say that MLG is not about button glitching. MLG is about teamwork, strategies, good tactics, and tactical awareness. Anybody who has ever played a truly good team knows this. No, not the cute little kids with there matching names and there cute little matchmaking matching symbols. I mean like a real team that has placed high at MLG. It is almost impossible to break there setups.

So anybody who says MLG is about button gltiching, go watch a game of VoD and you will notice that pros rarely use them. Pros will be fine in H3 because of the same reason that there are pro in H2: Teamwork, strats, good tactics, and tactical awareness.

Whenever I meet a alleged MLG guy on XBL, they always seem to just button glitch, and trash talk you about it.
I am against button glitching, but there is nothing I like more than hearing the MLG guy say "LOL DUDE DID YOU SEE THAT BXR?? YOU GOT PWNED -blam!-!", then BXRing him every kill after that.
I highly doubt those are real MLG players, however.
Just clans and gamertags with MLG in them.

AHAHAHA.

Good excuse terrible kid. You only lose because people glitch right? If they didn't you'd win......

I don't care about people who choose not to glitch, that's their choice, but the people who say the glitchers only win because of glitches are HORRIBLE. Every one of you, there is no 1%.

Yeah really you cannot go and determine how good people are based off of numbers.

Or how they lost to someone 50-10 in the first round of the open ffa.

Oops my bad.

besides the gametype mixup, this reply was epic.

Actual MLG members and a majority of their decent followers, generally shun those kids with MLG in their gamertag, because most of them(not all) are really bad.

Exactly. MLG is boring and there are people who play MLG who are rude and arrogant because of that.

Just like saying people who don't like MLG, button glitches, are bad.

but don't make baseless claims about something especially if you don't know much about it. That's all I ask.

the only baseless claim here is that anti-MLGs are without skill

Not everyone that doesn't play it is bad. Just a lot. I left that 1% margin for error. :)

Just out of curiousity, is your assumption based on anything but anecdotal evidence?

Look at the stat page of any anti-MLG/BR player. Most of the time it's not too impressive. Below average at best. I'm not saying there isn't good people who don't play competetively but they're very rare to find.

Check my stats. Dakilla Nick. And i NEVER button glitch.

And i am not saying they are amazing, they are pretty good though.

You don't have to "button glitch" to play competitively. I never button glitch but I still play MLG customs every time I get on Halo.
