Do you have to download the custom maps for H2V like you do for Halo CE?

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Nope, it magically appears on your computer, just because the Halo 2 Vista Fairy thought it would make an exception just for you.

Halo CE you have to go to web sites that have Halo CE maps that you can download, like Halomaps.org.
Halo 2 Vista you can download maps from a web site, or from the server that you join that has it, but it only downloads from the party host/server host, and no one else, so the download is slow, and you can only download it if the server is waiting for the server host to click "Start game". you're better off downloading maps off of URL=www.halomaps.org]Halomaps.org, you can only download one at a time, but it beats having to download on that takes a long time and you have to wait for some one else to download it.
Oh, and StarCraft was a better game for custom made map downloads, it was a hell lot quicker. >.> it downloaded part of the maps from every one who had the map, instead of just from the host.

StarCraft maps were only kilobytes in size. I know this as I made a couple of successful maps in my time as a mapper. Let's not forget that the game was made in 1996 or so and that you can't really add new things to them...
Also, I recommend cleaning up the linking in your post.

Do you have to download the custom maps for H2V like you do for Halo CE?
The Halo 2 Vista game does have a map download function through Live so if you connect to a server running a map you do not have it will download. However you can download the maps independently and install them before you connect.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.
