There is a reason that all the weapons that are in Halo are actually put into the game... to use them. Each weapon is good in at least one situation, some more than others. If you have a weapon such as a rocket launcher used on you, don't complain about it, that's what it was put in the game for, to "kill" the other player.
Rocket Launcher - Used most often in medium-short range (at least from what I've seen.) It obviously causes high amounts of damage, therefore making it a good weapon at that range. Despite that fact, Rocket Launchers are for the most part horrible at extreme long and short ranges due to the fact that when shot from a long distance, the rocket often misses and when fired from short range, you often die along with your opponent.
Sword - Useful only in short range. Granted, it has that swift lunge capability, but all the same, a player has to be pretty damn close to his opponent in order to use that attack. The closer you get to a person (starting from long range) they'll fire. When at medium range, you tend to get a barage of grenades thrown in your direction while still being fired at. When at medium-close range, as you are getting ready to go in for the kill, you are still being shot at. All in all, people who use the sword often rack up some points because they are able to evade the opposing force's fire. Why hate them for being able to evade?
