I watched re-runs of the original series a few years back. then i stopped because they were scared of a coal monster in one episode, and then after like 20 minutes of the show they finally decided to set it on fire and let it burn instead of freezing it or something. Moron's.

When barbecuing veggie burgers, be sure to tie your long hair back. That will keep it away from the flames, you stupid hippie.

I'm a man with a fork in a world of soup.

I try to avoid any7hing that will let my true nerd self shine through.
But I've failed horribly, because I'm posting here.
So......I like Star Wars more.

I used to be a HUGE trekker, but not so much anymore. I found Stargate and Starwars to be alot better

But I still love watching the old 60s series. It's fun to watch sort of because it was a classic and had some good stories (or at least they were first to use them before they were recycled by every other Sci-fi show)

I've also been interested in Enterprise lately, mainly because of it's ties to the old series.

But the main reason I didn't like TNG, DS9, or Voyager is because humanity was too perfect. They had an advanced civilaization and rarely faced major wars and were all so politically correct. I like Sci-fi series where humanity is in struggle, not just traveling around in a luxurious spaceship going boldly to where no social issue has gone before.

TREKKIES

You gotta problem with that? I don't follow the standard stereotype for a Trekkie. I could snap you in half and shove your arm down your throat. Don't piss me off.

Sorry, just a little PISSED right now.

MC's Bro, you may be reaasuered by the fact my friend, who wasnt a really big star trek fan had a conversational klingon learning tape. He doesnt think much of Enterprise but finds the ideas of the stories hilarious. His dad watches it and tried to explain it to him and they really sound like they are trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel. The Temporal cold war is bad enough, but some of the -blam!-e that has been discribed really just was hilarious.

Are you making that up? I doubt that "hanky panky thrice" is any where in the Klingon language.

I never really got into DS9. Only thing I liked about that show, where the Ferengi. It was also fun to see them in an episode in Enterprise, with a guest roll by Clint Howard (Ron's brother).

Gene Roddenberry (the late creator of Trek - god rest his soul)

Ironic you say that, since if I remember correctly he created Star Trek so there would be an atheist TV show.

I know that this will forever label me as a hopeless geek, but Clint also had a part (as a young boy) in the original series. He played Balok the 3 foot tall captain of the Fesarius. I think that the episode was called "The Corbomite Maneuver".

Oh gods, I am SO sad.

That neither makes you a geek or sad. The human brain has a remarkeble(sp) capacity to store all kinds of (less) useful information, where, on the other hand, people fail misserably to remember their cell phone number. Anywho, I allways think it's fun that one can remember such details. Cheers.
