Should I reinstall XP and quit Halo 2?

That'll seem like a waste of my $50 (Don't know about Campaign being worth it) but it hasn't been running the same lately, it crashes, and my other games get graphical stutters.

Things started out well, but after playing some Halo 1 and Battefront 2, I began to realize that I'm not getting the full framerate of my other games.

Then of course I can dual boot.

Is it me or is Halo 2 the first and only Vista exclusive game? I was expecting the first title to go to Crysis.

Eh I'd avoid Vista untill service pack two and stick to XP (professional I have media now and it doesn't work very well) Also Vista runs slower with 4 gig of memory then xp runs with 2. It just matters what games mean more to you. Halo 2 or every other game you own

Well, if you mean Vista exclusice, I guess Shadowrun wouldnt count, because its Vista and Xbox 360, but Alky is making it for XP. Ummmm.....Alan Wake is Vista exlusive,Marvel Universe online is also Vista.
And to the guy on top, wait for Vista Service Pack 1.

Wow. Please, please tell me you didn't upgrade to Windows Vista just to play Halo 2 Vista.

Oh how i get a good laugh when ppl say " wait for sp1 with Vista". Try actually using it instead of just repeating each other.
Plus from what I've been reading that there isn't going to be a sp1, instead they are going to release smaller updates over time instead of one big one all at once.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I'd say dual-boot. That's what I'm doing.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

I dont understand why everyone says wait for sp1 as if it's going to include some amazing fix for some problem that I do not know of despite the fact that i have been using it since before it came out.
There is nothing wrong with vista.

eh not really, vista runs fine on my machine with 2 gigs of ram. it runs just like XP did.

Because that gives them time to fix the new problem they created. I personally avoided it due to game problems and slower running speed at twice the memory. But like I said before. What games mean more to you

Would you be so kind to point out the problems with vista that really affect everyone, not just your specific problems?

If you have 4 gigs of memory and vista is running slow then there is something wrong with your machine.

I avoided it at note of my friend who does play games pro. I choose to avoid it to start anyways because XP was hell when it just came out and I've seen the interacted with the Vista interface. Not something I want to repeat. Also as of now most games are still XP or XP/Vista except for maybe a few. There's no reason to move up untill they actually update it.

So in other words you choose to avoid it although you have no experience with it. depite the fact that you do not have any experience you pretend to think there are some glaring problems with it because XP had some. I don't know but it seems that you can't really say anything until you have actually tried it. I know this though I havent had any problems on two of my machines that run it,

The display interface for it was poorly poorly designed and I do not intend to upgrade to it untill absolutely needed. I have many gamer friends who have had issues with it and I trust their word. XP was hell if you got it before the service packs. Now lets get back on topic and avoid making this forum off topic

Man static, if you had spent weeks on the phone with Microsoft, re-installing Vista and Halo 2 fighting to get it working, you'd be a bit frustrated and groping around for help, too. Stop flaming everyone who comes here with Halo 2 problems.

I know nothing is perfect and there are plenty of things people can do that I simply cant do as well. However I don't run around and call them inheriently flawed.

The few, the proud, the leet.

Crysis is not Vista exclusive.

If you can, dual boot it. Renember; Vista is going to be the next 'standerd' OS, whether people accept it so or not.

I upgraded because of the new look and features of Vista. Readyboost sucks, and you get used to Aero after a while. According to Microsoft, gaming was supposed to be better. I was running Vista few months before Halo 2 came out actually.

I've had Vista since day one with no XP, mainly because I am NOT a gamer. If you value your BF2 and any other game you love, then get XP back. Vista sucks for gaming.

And whoever said Vista runs slow with 4gb of ram, please get your facts straight.

Yes, dual boot is the way on this one. I have both XP Pro and Vista Ulitmate running without any problems. Or should I say 'had no problems' .... However since the last Windows Live update, Halo 2 'crashes' on exit. Never did this until the update. It's no big deal as I just cancel the Microsoft Error collection dialog, and nothing else is affected.
So it's XP for Halo One, and Vista for Halo Two.

I'll come back to Vista after I do a full upgrade. Apparently Vista was built for "computers of the future."

THE CAKE WAS NOT A LIE fireangel115.deviantart.com

Yea, vista is for computers that cost alot like dell's most expansive XPS desktop... cuz i know somone that uses vista and it RUNS SLOW!
ive also noticed the higher the grade the slower it goes cuz i tried windows vista home basic... a little sluggish on WoW but other than that it ran fine.
