My suggestion is one I know can be done, because it has. All that would have to happen would be for someone to cancel the new topic link.
Like how it is in the News and Voting Booth forums.

Or they could just shut down the forums, leaving only the groups.

It comes out a day earlier in the US than over here in the UK so from the 20th (just to make damn sure) I'm just not going on the net and i'm not gonna interact with people. Oh the life of a hermit...

Here's an idea. Don't come to the site on September 25th until you beat the game.

What say you? You mean it will be up to me to use my own self control? Then who will I blame when I click on the "SPOILERS!!! Halo 3 Ending Revealed!" threads?

You mean if I don't want the ending spoiled, I shouldn't come here and click on suspect threads and links? You must be new here BlueRay, cause logical and obvious posts like this have no place here on B.net. NO PLACE!

I just wouldn't come here if I were you. Anyway, I probably won't have an Xbox 360 tillaround thanksgiving, so I will probably have it spoiled some way or another.

Interestingly, not reading topics isn't going to be perfect. Just coming here could lead to comments like:

SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE

In topic titles.

In the heart of Africa, at the dawn of time. They built it.

S3NATOR has brilliantly taken the next philosophical and theoretical step, and advanced mankind once more. For that, I'm forever grateful.

I will blame FEMA. Why not? Everyone else does.

Strange evolution how people have come to believe
That we are it's greatest achievement
We're barely, we're just a collection of cells
Overrating themselves

Doesnt matter if you take Bungie.net completely offline. People will still post spoilers and try to ruin your fun.

You are the only one responsible for not having the ending spoiled for you.

Get away from the forums until you beat the game. Once the game is released, everything can be discussed.

If you're worried about having it spoiled, you run for the hills with your Xbox 360 and Halo 3 copy, and don't come back to civilization until you've beaten it.

I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and I'm all out of bubble gum.

Well, if everything goes according to plan and I acquire the game on the 25th, I will be far too busy actually playing it to peruse these forums.

Snape kills Dumbledore? You dirty son of a -blam!-!

But yeah, just don't come here if you don't want it to be spoiled, because there WILL be spoilers despite bannings.

its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

I'm going to stay far away from here come the 25th. Very far...

Become the hunter.

Yeah, I'm not going to touch the laptop until I beat it, I hope no one spoils it at school on the 25-26th...

  • 09.10.2007 5:09 PM PDT

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

There's nothing we can do. Idiots will be posting spoilers in thread titles once it leaks, and the forums will be pure hell. Just don't come here.

Out of curiosity, what are you going to do? And the other moderators. Obviously, you all are just regular people who can't wait get their hands on Halo 3 like the rest of us, but the jerkfaces who put spoilers in the titles will ruin the fun. How is that going to work out for you? Seeing that your moderators who have to deal with that crap. You can't just skip out, because someone's got to get them. Wouldn't that spoil Halo 3 for you?

Well... they could choose not to come on..
I still think my idea works though. I never said to shut down the forums, btw.
And I will not be coming here, I am simple trying to make it easier for the people who choose to.

  • 09.10.2007 5:40 PM PDT

You not coming on the forum = you not reading spoilers on the 25th.

People are going to do it...I don't know why they will seeing on how I will be playing Halo 3 for a long time before I come back on the forums....

  • 09.13.2007 11:30 AM PDT

The forums are to discuss things, if you don't want to discuss Halo 3 on and around release, don't come here. Do you know what the biggest topics created were all about on November 9th?

They were all about not knowing where to go after killing the Drones on Cairo.

Try this argument in a courtroom and see where you go:

"I don't consider theft a crime because it is easy to accomplish. Don't be hating on me judge just because you don't have the skill to do it!"

I'd just stay off of the forums until you've beaten the game. That's the best way to do it.

  • 09.13.2007 2:23 PM PDT

Agreed with the other. Have some self controll and don't come here untill your thru with the game.
You know there will be threads titled " New Weapons " but the second you open it, the entire end of the game is in the first 5 words.

Is there a reason the guide is coming out before the game? I mean, I dont know if its ever been officially said. But thats a bad idea.
