I mean it's hard handling Halo 2 on Live as is, but with Halo 3 it's gonna be near impossible. What with cheaters/ hackers and the sort. I wish you guys good luck.

ending halo 2 on xbox live would just draw the line for bungie.
They better not...

Bungie dosent "monitor" XBL, they only create updates that XBL puts into the game. Their software is what bans you, not them.

I don't see why not. By that time it will be a dead game.

Everyone who plays Halo 3 on live will probably also play Halo 2 on live. This means that more people wont be playing, they will just be playing both games instead of the one. Managing this shouldn't be an issue for bungie.

What do they exactly "monitor" anyways? (Not trying to sound like a dick). I mean, the system is more or less self-sufficient, and only the occasional update marks any monitoring that Bungie is doing. Playlists have stayed the same for a while, and they will likely continue to do so. Everything is automated and requires little maintenance. At this point, they can just let the system run, keeping an eye on it from time to time of course.

And for all people who think that the game will "die" - online games don't really do that. At least, the better-selling ones don't. Counter-Strike 1.6 is more popular than ever, even with the release of CS Source, and online communities for old games are still thriving for the most part. Hell, I've even found active Doom 2 communities running deathmatch over the net.

Halo 2 will be around for a very long time. You won't have no "50,000 people currently playing", but you will be able to play the game for quite some time after Halo 3 launches. Trust me on that one.

who cares if they get rid of halo 2, from what i've seen halo 3 is gonna own halo 2's face. With bubble shields, land mines, the return of the assault rifle, cmon people, its gonna be halo at its greatest. You want strategy there gonna have that 2, there designing the maps with multiplayer in mind, actually, i think halo 3's multiplayer was started even before there single player, so a game based around the multiplayer, unlike the originals. Its gonna roxzor.

Bubble shileds, landmines, ect. are just ways for scrubs to get a "get out of jail free card". Bungie, in all their "genius" didnt actually find a way to make all the bad players get better...they found a way to give all the bad players a way out without actually having to work to get good. Fantastic, lol.

No, they put out more things for people to try to control like, let's say sniper on Lockout. Also, no one is bad at Halo, that's just your personal assumption from your rank and whatever. Kids who are bad think they are good, just like a 45 would think a 30 is trash, when a 30 would think a 20 is trash. Plus, if your boasting so much about how godly you are, you'll only play with those people for about 10 games anyhow, why complain?

Not being a jerk, just stating my own personal opinion about your comment.

Oh! To the normal matter, I seriously wouldn't give a -blam!- if they took H2 off the air, so to speak. Once H3 comes out, I'll probably throw it away, and free up some drive space.

get out of jail free card lol. classic, go back to monoploly newbzor. More content = more game, hmm lets think, more game = better pvp, it actually adds real strategy, lets say ur chasing after someone about to kill em, bam bubble shield gets thrown down around em what do u do? retreat or die? u actually gotta think this time around instead of running around pointlessly aiming guns and shooting, really it dont take that much skill to halo, 1 day lvl 1 to 6 in less than an hour. levels dont matter, its all luck, i mean i kill my lvl 35 buddy like nothin, the only time levels actually matter is in rpg games. the level system in here just shows u how much time u like to take out of your lives to play a bland shooter (halo 2), it just dosent have the feel of actual warfare. yeah, some strategy is put into it, but when u do the same thing over and over and over, point shoot nade, or nade point shoot or shoot shoot melee, u get the drift. now throw some new -blam!- into it like the tech thats comin wit halo 3, and u got a game, the way most levels start u off in halo 2 with a dual wieldable weapon is just retarded, they should have kept the assault rifle from halo but they junked it, halo 3 got it, an then some, maps tailored for fighting, key points to hold, even if its a ffa, high ground thats actually high ground not just some little hill in the middle of the battlefield. or on the side. just cause ur afraid of getting OWNED dont go hatin it just shows how newbish u r, holla
