C'mon people! I mean, Seriously. First of all, it would be violating quite a few clauses of bungie's contract. Secondly, Have you noticed that most all movies based on video games have been flops? Look a tomb raider. Hot chicks and guns...yes... But the plot and the storyline SUCKED!

If Halo were made into a movie it would definetly need to be a computer generation made in Poser (tm), or Bryce (tm). Otherwise it would be absolutely horrible.

If all of these maniacs want to see a halo movie so bad, why don't they make it themselves? Ask bungie and microsoft for a contract, and make it yourself! don't be outside bungie's offices complaining like little babies.

if they were to ever create a Halo movie, make it comp generated, since we're all used to seeing the game "computer generated" we would feel comfortable and in a familiar enviroment.

not at all i dont think that we should becuase, halo the game made over 170 million dollars. just take everybody that bought the game and have them get a ticket to go see it if its about 5 dollars compared to 50 dollars then thats about ten percent which means that it wont make over just 20 million dollars. plus tons of people that own the game does't neccesarliy mean that they are halo 2 fanatics, so they might not go see it, so its top grossing wont be as high as the would hope it to be, entertanment wise, and for my sake, Aboslutly, though financialy for bungie, and the movie makers, major downers, unless they pull theere crew and off the streets, , there grossing wont go any higher though its total profit would be higher. let me put this all in one sentence.

DONT MAKE A MOVIE

Making a movie would be a step backwards. It could never come close to the games.

why the hell would it ruin it for bungie. First of all, theres no chance of a movie being made without bungie being somewhat involved. You cant just go and make money off of someone else's concept.

MUCH more people would see the movie than just the ones that own the game. It would get publicity, and publicity sells tickets no matter how bad the movie. Take Tomb Raider as an example. How many tickets did it sell? How much money did it make?

Enough.

*sigh* Isn't there a stickied topic at the top of the page with a large post count built for a discussion like this? Do everyone a favor and post your comments there.

I personally advocate a Halo Movie. I do not advocate annoying threads that could be easily discussed in an already created thread on the same topic; Especially when that topic is in open sight.

If a Halo movie is ever made, and sucks, then people might think the game sucks. Seeing the Resident Evil movie has made me see the games (except 4, dont kill me fanboys) as crap. And remember the Mario movie? *shudders* Never again.....

I do not want to see halo made a movie. This typ of story has ben played out. If any game should be made a movie it shouldd be Metal Gear Solid. The story line in MGS has so much more meaning a depth in it. Granted that halo is a kick ass game, but when it comes down to it. its just a fanticy game. Another played out Sci-Fi movie. metal gear solid whoud just fit better as a movie an it would be cheaper to make and more cost efective. halo is more of a shoot umm up game whare the player can rome about. MGS is more a a movie styled Game. Any director worth a damn could see that a movie based off of MGS would make more.

All they need to do is license it out to someone ELSE who would make the movie.
Then they make money...and dont have to worry about it flopping. (if it did)

Of course..then u have to worry about keeping with the integrity of the universe.

Cmon now, if they made a movie, computer generated or not, the master Chief would have to keep his helmet on the whole movie. Nobdoy knows what he looks like and nobody ever will so he would be Mr. Helmet through the whole thing...

You do realize that the reason that the movies of videogames plots sucked because, in fact, the game's plot sucked in the first place?

Does anyone, even the guys that MADE Tomb Raider, know what the hell the plot is in that seris? Does anyone have any idea what the hell is going on in Resident Evil games at -any- time?

Other than final fantasy, the games these movies were based on had hideous plots.

Bloodrayne the movie is coming out soon! Anyone know what the hell the plot of that game was? No.

Great games, all of them, no plot, or horrid plot, so the movies will -definatly- have horrible plotlines.

But guess what. Halo 2 has a -blam!- awesome plot, but I must say, unless Bungie directly... directs the movie, it will suck. Because you can't take a story made by someone else and try to make it into something of your own. We proved this by making Fanfiction =P

If a Halo movie was made it would increase the info on the Halo universe, only if it was made extreamly well, with alot of in-depth storyline, and if the storyline was made by the people who made the Halo:CE storyline. In money wise, well you might bring about I belive around 120 million dollars, global. I mean thats alot of money, maybe on the first day or first weekend or even week! But for all I know is that it could be much more with all the Halo fans out their. Even if its that good, people will still watch again and again. Heck within 2 years later the DVD comes out with the bonus stuff on it, wich is always at like 50 dollars, and people will always buy them. I would say for that, maybe they will get about like what? atleast 20 million. That is still alot. if you add them both up it would be about 140 million or more.

Now the bad reasons for making a halo movie! Halo is more of a FPS game type then a movie. I know it would be great, it would be like just some one playing the game and your just watching and thats it! Not being able to enjoy the fun of killing of whats left of the Covenant.

Poser? Bryce? What the hell are you on?? Those are the most crappiest 3d programs ever made. Halo and Halo 2 where made in 3ds Max, odds are they would use it if they where to make a movie. It makes sence because they already have most of the models.

That aside, I think a Halo movie would blow. Seriously, what is the point of watching a 2 hour flick of a game/s we have already played. We know what is going to happen. And to the annoying person who would follow that statement with "They could make a movie to fill in the rest of the story," let me ask you this, would you really rather watch a 2hrs movie of Halo than play 10hrs through on your own?

We can learn from Pokeymon, Tomb Raider, and Resident Evil. If a movie is released, it should only be like .hack and be included with the game, not in theaters.

What all of you are doing is completely pointless. No offense, but opinions will not change fact. If they make a movie, they make a movie. If not, so be it. I personally think that it would not be as bad as 'Tomb Raider'. That is like saying that, before they came out, to never release Harry Potter movies because all movies based on books suck. My point? The reason Tomb Raider and other movies weren't so hot is because they didn't have good storylines. Halo is at the Lord of the Rings level of story, if not higher. It is not just one persons life, but more a whole universe. And if you don't want to watch a movie exactly like the game, there is always the prequel and the story between the Halos to make.

If you are so negative on it, then that is just you. I'm not the one posting useless "Should a Halo Movie be made?" threads. It has a lot of potential.

If none of you can see that, then you really do not know much about movie making, and should not be so sure of something that you really have no experience in.

Who says it'll be based on the gameplay. They could make a movie explaining the rest of Halo 2. And I think a real movie would rock. I don't want computer graphics. Thats what games are for. You could just take a whole bunch of cutscenes from Halo 1 and 2, combine them, and thats it, you got you're movie. I've seen what halo is with computer graphics. I wanna see what they can do with Live Action. With technology today, I think they'll do and awesome job. Just look at Terminator 3, and all those new action movies. They rock. Just don't expect it to be like heaven and you'll think it's pretty good. Some people just expect tooo much of movies, and its not what they thought it would be.
