Has anyone gone through campaign with every skull activated? I am gonna do this, but with 14 skulls (no IWHBYD). What I will do is collect every skull, then start the game at the heretic. I have been practicing using particular skulls on legendary, and today I went through a couple levels for practice using these skulls: Angry, Assassins, Mythic, Thunderstorm, Sputnik, Black Eye, and Envy. With these 7 skulls that I have used, it already makes the game close to impossible if it weren't for the envy. I tried it on Outskirts and Metropolis, and it took me 2 hours just to beat those two levels. Let me just give you a taste of what it is like on these two levels:
Outskirts
I started out attacking one marine with the smg, then melee him. Yes, mythic not only makes enemy AI tougher, but also allies tougher. I get my pink overshields up, then attack the first grunt walking. My shields turn green, then I head for the rooftops. When I make it to the hotel, I had to take out this Elite, which was not easy even after using two clips of smg ammo. Then I head to the other side of the hotel which also was not easy. I was using some grenades at the coming enemies and put camo on for FOUR seconds. By the time my camo was gone, I had to jump over the gate as the enemies started shooting at me. In previous attempts, with full overshield on, the 2 Elites and 3 Grunts chewed me up in just over 1 second! I head for the ghost at the downed pelican and get a checkpoint. When I got to the big purple gun structure, I got out the ghost, put camo on, and boosted my way to the turret grunt. Surprisingly, no one saw me riding on the ghost as I was cloaked. I head for the next area where I just head for the water and ride along the shore. Then when I head for the final part of the beach, I boosted towards the tunnel, with some of my green shields intact, and reached the road, only to get sniped by the Jackal, losing all my overshields but surviving with about half my blue shields left. Then comes the hard part: recharging my shields. I took down both ghosts that were parked (mine and another ghost that was unmanned). It took me a while to get across the first camp of enemies, because I was trying to get the ghost that the elite drove, but it always failed. So i decide to take the one ghost from the start of the freeway, got close to the encampment, cloaked, got on ghost and sped to get a checkpoint for the second camp. This one was harder, because you have this small buffer zone between the second camp and the drones that show up. I got past the second camp, and the drones were really hard to pass by, even if I got past them, there was the third camp to get past, with the jackals and elites. I had no shields left when I got past them, so when the two ghosts passed by after the scarab, I headed for the vehicles for shield power. I died trying to get past those shadows with a ghost, it was just sad how they chew your ghost to pieces. When I got to them again, I thought of just letting them head on until I reach the part where the fourth shadow would spawn if you took out all three shadows. Two of the shadows were stuck, so I went around them as they shot me. I got to the last camp, and that was not so hard, just get out, cloak, get on and blow through.
Metropolis
This one was hard too, but not so at the beginning. I killed my marines and got my green overshields. I take the warthog, which I don't like to do, hit the first gate as an elite saw me coming, and got off, cloaked, and boarded a ghost. I was hiding behind buses and trucks along the way as well as cloaking when I could. I got past the bridge easily, and went in the tunnel. When you get to the second part of the tunnel (with all the enemies), I was getting ripped to pieces. I merely got through by sheer luck, although you have to path out where the enemies are going once you kill the remaining jackals with shields with a rocket. Path the enemies out, then path out where you feel is safe, but boost with the ghost. Getting up that wall was hard, but eventually I got out of the tunnel for a checkpoint. The outside part is not really that hard, just melee the jackal, and boost through the park cloaked. The second part of the park was more challenging, but rather easy compared to the upcoming part. Just do the same, get off, cloak, get on and boost. This is the killer part of all of metropolis. Getting through the streets of downtown is not simple, you need to get green overshields by destroying vehicles, and then evading the ghosts, which was hard to do for 10 minutes. I got a checkpoint as I was destroying the vehicles, probably because there was no imminent threat to me. I took out the Wraiths by going to the "safe zone" (with the rocket and shotgun ammo where there are no enemies), peek out of the other side where the marines would be when the door would open, and charge at the wraith. It must have taken like 1 minute with grenades and over 2 dozen melee attacks to kill one elite driver. Then I went back to where I came as the dropship approached, and shot at it along with the ghosts. All that was left was the other wraith, which I took cautious approach and took it out. I watched the scarab part, and then went for the scarab. Getting inside the scarab is easy, taking out the enemies in the scarab was just luck again, but even more luck than the tunnel part. It took some time for me what to do in that part, but when you land on the scarab, cloak, enter the right side, and then wait. When you can cloak again, head for the driver that you are facing, take him out with a rocket melee and get the other two.
Maybe if I learn by using these seven skulls, I can beat the game with 14 skulls. I might have a video uploaded one day, but I don't have a cc, so I have to send in a tape to someone I know.
I have also completed the Arbiter, and got some of Oracle done.
Arbiter
Not really hard as you will think, but the hangar is kinda hard. At the beginning of the level, kill your allies as usual, using the plasma pistol the grunt has to deplete the elites shields, and sword for the grunts. You only need to kill the 4 enemies guarding the front. Then head down to the hangar, cloak and head for the bottom right. This is tricky, so hide under the ramp. Heretic grunts will come down, slash them from behind. Sentinels can be taken out with the plasma pistols, just aim for the lights. After that, you will face FRG toting grunts, not that hard to take out. Then the enemies will come out, which is a little hard. Get that settled, kill more enemies that come out the bottom door, and head down the hallway. Throw plasma grenades at the enemies, and shoot the grunts with the carbine. If you can, get behind the elites and lunge/swing at them. When you enter the next room, take out the grunts with the carbine, and the elites with plasma grenades. For some reason, when I stuck the elite between the conveyor belts, he got mad, and what would normally happen would be for him to take out his sword, for which he did not, even though he did charge at me. Head up the ledge to the right, take out the elite with melee attacks, and beware of the grunts. What happened to me next was I attacked the Elite in the hallway, but he saw me so the next elite came out the door, and I hid in there, taking any enemies out with the sword and a melee attack to follow. Then I proceeded down the hallway, fighting my way down with grenades, carbines, and melee attacks. The hallway with the sentinels was not hard, just cloak when you enter. Same with the hallway leading to the heretic leader. From there on, get the banshee, head for the oracle door, and watch out for the Grunts.
Oracle
This level is just plain hell, almost the whole way through (I presume because the flood are horrific, and the heretic holograms are a nightmare). Let's just say that the sentinel beam and the sword will most likely be your best bet, but remember the infection forms can be meleed for shield power. The flood have shields, and it takes more than one plasma grenade to take them out, several lunges if you are good enough to kill them, and they can attack in groups of five or more if you do not eliminate them. For me though, I just hid when I had the chance and dropped down to the floor when it was shallow enough. When I make it to the main room, it was just sickening. The Flood will overwhelm you like you never have experienced before. I think the plasma pistol would be most effective, but remember that it takes two charged shots at the least to take shields out. I predict most of the rest of the level will be miserable.
