I think there are 3 more rings. one the monitor said that, "this ring has an effective radius of 25,000 light years."Now after that I saw on the discovery channal that our galaxy is 100,000 light years long or across, (I forget) so then I did the math 25,000 divided by 100,000 = 4. So then there must be 3 more since the one in the last game was destroyed. That means there also must be more flood on those rings to. Now how does this pertain to halo 2? Well in the facts page they confimed there is anothe ring world in the game (that and they would not call it halo 2 if there was not another ring we play on).

Please tell me what you think.

343 guilty spark only said its radious is 25,000 lightyears it doesnt mean that there are 3 more or else the galaxy would be nothing but halos all across space

EDIT- by the way good observation

Yeah, I think you are right...
I have read somewhere that halo is installation number 04, or guilty spark say it somewhere, meaning there are at least 3 other rings. Don't renember where though.....

There are 13 Halo rings needed to blanket the entire galaxy. Which really isn't all that bad in number considering how big the galaxy really is. So my best guess is there are 13 Halos out there, well 12 actually since one went boom.

Yea, I rember 343 saying that they were on 04 in the cut scene just before 2 betrayals. For some reason (mabey it is just me) it would seem like there would be more than 10 because if was a number less than 10 woulnd he just say 4 insted of 04? mabey im crazy

But remember guys we are not in our galaxy, the PoA made a blind jump. We are not 100% sure were MC and the PoA are. So it could be a galaxy that is forever away.

No, then how would the UNSC database reigister this system if the Halo system wasnt in it?
As for the other halos, I believe that there should be at least 10 halos(most likely more), and 2 directly threatening earth, because some halos would have to overlap to completely blanket the galaxy in death.
Also som halos may not have the same radius of destruciton

i reckon there is only 1 halo and it can repair itself withouth help. i mean comeon it can blow up a 1/4 of the galaxy so why couldnt it fix itself.

As I said, 13 Halos. And a jump to another Galaxy? Bull-blam!-. It is within our own galaxy, trust me. This is known information amongst the Halo fanatics.

[edit]

Only one Halo? And I quote.

" But once the others follow suit, this galaxy will be quite devoid of life..." He said galaxy and a 25,000 ly blast radius is not 1/4 of the galaxy, it is a smaller number than that.

Just to clarify, how exactly big is the galaxy (someone said the galaxy was 100,000 ly across), but Hikaru implies that it is larger or someones math is off. Could someone get an exact # and do the math

it is about 100,000 ly across. But in the that doesn't mean that 2 rings could kill everything in the galaxy just enough to reach across the galaxy, but not fill it

a radius is half the width of a circle, a diameter is a full width of the circle. So wouldnt there be just 2 rings? cuz if thats the radius then the diameter is 50,000 so wouldnt there be 2?

They is no way Halo is in our galaxy (The Milky Way) We would have found it before 2552 if it was, there are thousands and thousands of galaxies out there that we now of today, and by the year 2552, I am sure we have found tons more. And what about the covies, is there home world in our galaxy too?

Yes they could the ring fire 25,000 light years squared uo down and across covers the whole galaxy which is 100,000 by about 25,000 so yeah about 4 rings.

I see, thats across, so that would make the galaxy have an area of 31400000000ly and halo have a blast area of 1962500000ly (pi*r*r)

divide those #s and you have the # of halos

But the galaxy that Halo is located in might be different(in size and shape) from the galaxy Earth is in.

Brilliant(to sornos)!! Halos blast radius has to be a sphere, not a 2D object (although the galaxy is in the shape of a pancake)

Thats assuming Halo isnt in our galaxy, for all intents and purposes, lets keep halo in our galaxy for the time being

One problem with your theory
the universe is constantly expanding so who knows how big it is in 2552

Baughb you are an idiot.

It stated within First Strike even that Halo no longer had a threat on EARTH. That's right, EARTH. In order for it to of been a threat in the first place HALO had to be IN OUR GALAXY. Don't believe me? Read the books then. They are official on this stuff.

I go around the world leaving a path of destruction in my wake. When I come to a city, grown men cry and women wail. I collect the skulls of my enemies and display them for all to see.........I also kick puppies. For fun.

on the down side, isnt there a monitor like 343 at each halo, i cant stand him alone, but more then one...-blam!- that

  • 06.03.2004 1:24 PM PDT

I like my Covenant like i like my woman, screamin and with a sticky on there face.

and more info maybe we didnt find it yet becuase we just happened not to get there yet.

in fall of reach it took 20 something days to get to halo and it took 20 something to get to chi ceti so that means that it is still within our galaxies and pretty damn close to us
