Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

The Halo 3 forum is getting cluttered with stickies again : (

Time for another clean up.

Agreed, there are currently 10 stickies on the first page, when there should be 5 or less.

I think we should sticky the whole first page. Just to prevent you guys from posting repeat topics.

I don't know if you were being facetious or not JAF, but I actually don't think that's a terrible idea. I'm not sure about the ENTIRE first page, but I don't think that we should be afraid of stickies.

There is a popular notion going around that too many pinned threads are a bad thing, but if you look at any stickied thread, the number of repeat topics on that same subject is hugely reduced. Although lots of stickies reduces original topics and new topic discussion in other forums, having half the first page stickied in the Halo 3 Forum might really help to leave MORE room for other topics rather than LESS.

On another note, I do think that the Halo 3 Forum's "Post your thoughts, thank-yous, and complaints" sticky is utterly useless. The first sentence of the first post says, "This thread is to discuss any comments, opinions, or thoughts about Halo 3 and its release on September 25, 2007."

Um, isn't that what the Halo 3 forum is for?

You wouldn't want a bunch of "Thank you Bungie" threads would you?

I like the idea of that thread. I know Bungie will probably never read it, but I think a lot of people feel the need to express their gratitude.

I don't know, IMO, it's not totally useless.

I think you're onto something. Make the whole first page stickies, then no worries about spoilers or elmos running wild on the 25th.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

I have removed a couple of the stickies. Luke's is no longer need since Achronos has a sticky up allowing harsher punishment, and the Halo going Gold has turned into a chat thread. That will at least get a bit more room up there. I am going to see of any of the other ones can be removed as well.

No I guess your right, but the thread should be repurposed to be a "Thank You Bungie" thread. Reading the first post, it seems that the original poster intends for it to be for all general Halo 3 discussion. Which of course, is silly.

I'm sorry that you think that thread is utterly useless, but maybe it was just misinterpreted as, having an unclear meaning. I changed the title to better describe the intention and purpose of the thread.

Nice. Now the thread has a lot more reasonability, in my opinion. A thank-you thread is certainly more useful and appropriate than a general Halo 3 discussion thread.

I'll now bounce out of this thread to allow it to return on-topic!

My only question is how did this get stickied? It's a total mess.

We needed a quick sticky due to the huge amounts of repeat threads. Once things cool down, that one can be removed.

Yes but can't you edit it? It's really unclean and links to really bad threads for support. Will you mind if I create a new one for the moderators to sticky that is much more "well tamed" I'm asking for permission.

So if I were to rework the entire page into a new, much more organized thread, would you sticky?

I could have it done in Half an hour.

The only thing it would serve to do would be to make the second page the new first page. It'd only make people click one more button to view their threads.
