I rarely enjoy reading books, but the Halo books are an exception. I've read First Strike and The Flood, and then I'll read The Fall of Reach when they get it back in stock. They kick ass, they are full of Covenant being killed in violent ways, like their brains being blasted through the back of their skull. It's awesome.

I don't know about online, but i've read all the books...
Book 1: The Fall of Reach told you how all the original spartans were trained. They were taken from their homes at really young ages and replaced by clones. They were constantly being trained when they were only children. After a few years, they were given an experimental serum that enhanced their strength and reflexes and stuff. A lot of the spartans died though, since it was experimental. After being put through a lot of missions (that include finding an alien atrifact that the Covenant wanted) and were finally set up to do a mission that would end the war. They were going to capture a Covenant ship and then fly it to the covenant Home world. there they would capture a Prophet and hold him hostage to negotiate a type of treaty. Before this mission could be done, however, the Covenant launched a MASSIVE strike on the plantet Reach. Reach was basically a planet that was a huge military base. It was basically the last stronghold before earth. It was also where all the spartans were trained. During the strike, the Master Chief and two other spartans must locate and destroy one of their own ships, because it has been abandoned and thier is data on it about Earth's location and defenses and stuff... They do this as all of the other spartans go planetside to defend Reach from a Covenant Invasion. One of the spartans with the MC dies but Linda (the best Spartan Sniper) is severely injured. The Master Chief puts her in a cyro-tube to keep her alive. He and Linda are rescued by Captain Keyes and the Pillar of Autumn (which is the ship they were going to use to capture the coventant ship and do their mission), and they jump to a "random" location, before seeing what happens to Reach. The Human fleet was completely destroyed, but they did NOT see the Covenant glass the planet. The Pillar of Autumn arrives in an unknown area of space, but suddenly they spot a gigantic ring in space... This is the start of the game and the second book. Also, when i put "random" coordinates in space, it's because Cortana saw the coordinates on the alien artifact they recoved, meaning whoever had the artifact (most likely the forerunners) knew about the ring world Halo...

The second halo book is just about the game, so if you've played it you know all about it. I have to go right now, but i'll try to do a summary of the third book sometime later...

Now for the third book
Halo: First Strike

Okay, this takes place right after the game. It appears that everyone has died on the ring except the MC. All they hear are "dust and echoes." Then a Coventant Flagship approoaches, and the MC and cortana know they're in trouble. they also spot a pelican dropship resting on some debris. At first they think it crashed, then they realized that it was perfectly in shape and resting on the asteroid, probably hiding from the covenant. The MC and cortant fly over there, and attatch the two ships. After opening the hatch, the MC pulls the crew in. The MC is shocked to see Sargent Johnson there. In case you don't remember, he was supposed to be dead since the flood ate him in that one cinematic. Also, if you've beaten the game on legendary, he should have died on Halo after the ship exploded (he was playing tug of war with the elite). After an interrogation, Johnson says that the flood didn't like the way he tasted...
The MC uses a daring move involving both the pelican and longsword figher. He uses a planets gravity to slingshot around the planet and head straight for the Covenant Flagship. The Flagship temporily lowers its shields to let out it's fighters, and, as planned, they use this to fly right into the ships dock. They eventaully have some firefights and try taking over the ship. The MC and an elite actually have a fistfight because the MC runs out of ammo, and there is a large struggle as the MC tries to overtake the elite. He eventually wins, though. After that, there is this time when the MC decides to return to Reach and to see what happened.

Sry, but i have to go again, i'll complete this summary later
