I've only had mine for like 6 months (got a 360 + Halo 2 in March), and it is already getting scratched. It plays most of the time, but with two errors:
1) It doesn't load maps sometimes.
2) Occasionally when I start it up it takes like 5 minutes to load, and then tells me that my disk is scratched/dirty. I take it out, wipe it off, blow on it, and it always works.
I suppose in another 6 months it would probably be dead. If I weren't going to switch to Halo 3 before then.
I'm going to take much better care of my Halo 3 disk, since it is $60 instead of $20. I hope I never have to buy another.
