I really don't know how to make this type of request. You see, I've made this thread that talks about display settings (and things that are associated with it), and people have been sending private messages to me telling me to get it stickied.

In all of my time here, I've never known how to make a request. Can anybody here tell me how?

its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

You ask. Really nicely.
Oh, money is good.

Mods normally just kind of choose stickies.
I've never seen a successful sticky request, but I would PM a moderator about it.

Yeah, and money is your best bet. I hear the Ninja's Ninja outfits need washing really bad. You know how many places wash Ninja suits? Not a lot, and it requres care and time to wash them.

This is the thread.

I've tried through a PM, and haven't got an answer yet.

Well the other alternative would be to become a moderator and then sticky it yourself, but that's not really a viable option.

From what I have seen, the stickies are typically for either forum rules or for the types of topics that generate dozens or hundreds of repeat topics -- such as a podcast, or a weekly update. From my experience here, you don't see stickies typically created for a topic like HDTV information, which might generate a few repeat threads but does not cause a noticeable forum-clogging problem with repeat threads.

I did recently agree that a few more stickies in the Halo 3 Forum might reduce the clutter on the Halo 3 Forum's first page rather than increase it. I still don't think that I've ever seen a topic like HDTV information made into a sticky, however. I mean, it's the Halo 3 Forum -- not the HDTV information forum.

Just my 2 cents. Have a good one man.

Thanks a lot!

If the request is unsuccessful, I can accept that. I just want people to read the topic that I've created instead of making a repeat topic that in turn clutters the forum.

I'd try getting that into the "Threads of Interest" sticky as opposed to trying to make it its own sticky.

Well, the thread is pretty much dead now. Not much I can do about that =P
