Dont be angry, I'm obligated to whip your ass; if I didn't you wouldn't be getting your moneys worth.

Besides the fact that the levels weren't fun save for a few, it was the aspects of the levels more themselves that made it bad. The biggest problem I found was that there were entirely too many "hold and defend"moments in the game. such as courtyard level two, elevator ride from hell, slow moving tram ride, beginning of delta halo, and any other moment when you basically had to stay and fight wave after wave of covenant before you could proceed. Its not a bad thing, its just that it gets too redundant, frustrating, and challenging in a bad way. another example was in Halo CE _Truth and Recon_ when you first get on board the ship and you have to fight wave after wave after wave of dudes before you can proceed. In the newest podcast, they said that it was challenging and frustrating in a good way. I disagree, I hated that crap. So many times I would be about to beat it and some bogus bs would happen and ruin me. Im scared they will put too much of this in 3 and that it will ruin campaign levels. the upside however, is that I think they originally did this because they simply couldn't throw it all at you at once and so it had to be segmented. W/ 3sicky though, I think they will be able to throw it all at us at once, making for a fantastic s hit storm for like 3 min, and then I can move on. What I don't want though, is a three minute -blam!- storm repeated four times with the b itch hand of bungie drop ships assulting me every time im done and want to proceed.

I also worry b/c they also said in the p-cast that 3 was made on lots of BEEr and snacks. Im all cool with them drinking, but I worry that they make these "so called" good decison's after drinking beer. I doubt they were getting hammered but it concerns me that their judgement may have been affected by the beer and what they thought was good is in fact not so.. My aforementioned qualm is my example of the so called good decisions.. Im sure 3 will be awesome though, I just dont want to fight several waves of attackers before I can move on... It gets boring and makes me not want to play

I didn't mind the Arbiter.....I have no idea where he came in the game...( i think he was in the legendary ending on Halo CE.). When i saw the Brutes i was like....WTH are those....They weren't in Halo........Also The ending was A complete Cliff-hanger....So after you beat the game you think......Oh theres going to be a Halo 3?

Surrender your skittles...or prepare to die...

....Well...it was meant to be a trilogy so....

After you beat the game, you think,
"Great, I have to wait and see what weak ending bungie throws my way, and hopefully, it won't tie into Marathon..."

The cliffhanger made the game's campaign less appealing, but it was still a great game.

I was in 5th grade. I popped in the Halo CE disc into the massive, clunky first generation Microsoft Xbox, and wrapped my small hands around the controller that was almost too big for me. Little did I know what I was getting into.

10+ years later, I still look up to my childhood hero, Master Chief, while everyone talks about He Man and Spongebob haha

Not being able to finish the game as master chief ruined it a little for me. Playing the Arbiter was OK, but the MC is who I want to finish the game with, cause that's who I see on the cover. O great Human Savior... Other than that, the game was great in its own unique way. As for those 'hold and defend' moments, I agree with you. It would be really fun to fight them all at once and proceed instead of waves. AI Epic battles are more fun.

well if there werent that many hold you position thingies, wouldnt the game be a quick fast game, and not a "oh i died i should try the sh0tgunz,l0lz" game. i like it that way more, and i like having to wait for the last wave oh covie to die and tell them they got 0wn3dz0rz l0lz.

umm arbiter only had one "hold position" scenario and it was fairly quick with fresh troops and a dropship's cover fire.

On some of these "hold and defend" senarios you can easily skip ahead like deltahalo.

They could've done more with the Master Chief, instead of putting the Arbiter in. But still, it was interesting to see things from the other side...

there wasnt a single thing wrong with the campaign, the only problem is that you cant make everyone happy. i thought it was better then the first.

I was also very disappointed with the final level of halo 2 and the cliffhanger ending. Although the other day I popped in Halo 2 and gave it another go and felt that the ending gave an incredible hype for halo 3. I've got to finish the fight!

I thought the game was fine. I read all the halo books that came out so I sort of knew what to expect, somewhat, with halo2. I still havnt read the onyx book, so I guess I should do that. I thought the game is fine and the storyline so far is awesome.

I know you can skip them, most all of them actually; but whats teh point? Thats defeating the point of playing the game in the first place, actually playing.. I want to fight and destory, not just run through and skip the battles to fight through only a handful of scenarios.

w00t w00t to all the psychotic warthog drivers out there like me

yea the campaign was great, could'a been a couple levels longer, but it was awesome

Personal speculation here so please don't crucify me -

Microsoft forcing Bungie to make three games in place of two.

This lead to many vehicles, features and overall cut-outs of content for Halo 2. Leaving all the great content and features for Halo 3.

Bungie/Halo has actually single handedly developed and sold the Ms, XBL, Xbox & 360 platforms into a market leader this console generation and a seconday position last generation. Hence the need to develop so many games and merchandise extensions of this valuable Intellectual Property.

Like hanging a carrot in front of a horse. Give you enough to keep you wanting more sort of thing. Halo 2 in my opinion was given a major chop to extend into a Halo trilogy. Which I did not appreciate as a consumer.

Now that Halo 3 is on our doorstep I am no longer dissapointed about this process, 2 years ago I was. However this has lead to the great Halo vs Star Wars popularity that we are all enjoying now. Among many future good times, games, stories and more great Halo content than we can poke a stick at.
