I suck at Guitar Hero.

So for a long, long time my games of Halo 2 have been constantly interrupted by the blue screen. But after the blue screen goes away, I'm the only person left in the game.. and then it ends. So I'm guessing I keep getting dropped from games, which is really really annoying seeing as how Halo 3 is coming very soon. Anyone know how to fix this? I know this has probably been asked a million times, and I've searched. Surely it won't hurt someone to help me out a bit.
I've been playing COD4 and it hasn't been dropping me from the games on there, although it won't even let me play without my friend being the party host.

Any help?

I can't just get a better connection. There has to be a reason it only does it with Halo 2. My NAT is open, I have it port forwarded and all that jazz..

I don't get it.

I have some problems like that. A lot of times my Xbox Live will freeze while trying to find a match in matchmaking... it is very frustrating. I have to sign in and out again and again to play one game of MM mode.

And in the COD4 Beta it just freezes while trying to find a game. Yeah I need some help.

RIP Halo 2.

I had the same problem - it is your internet connection dropping out. Other games have larger tolerances for packet loss, so you don't lag out like you do in Halo 2. Chances are your ISP is at fault - I would contact them.

Thanks a lot for the responses guys. I don't recall being kicked from the H3 beta either, so hopefully H3 will be okay for me. If not, I'll go from there.
Again, thanks for all the kind, helpful answers. You don't get much of that here it seems.

Freedom of Speech does not equal "Freedom from Consequences when one speaks".

It is a right, and all rights have responsibilities associated with them. Ignore the responsibility, and you tend to lose the right.

My guess is that you have a latency issue, although you don't say if you have cable or DSL. DSL is notorious for unstable connections, although cable can be bad too. Go here and test a few times to get a good range. (Be advised you'll have to wait a second or two the first time for the Java script to load.) The upload/download speed you'll get will most likely be nowhere near your stated speed by your service. What's important to you is the Round Trip Time and Max Pause. RTTs should be less than 90ms or so, and Max Pause should be no higher than about 150ms. Any readings outside these ranges might give you the symptoms you noted.

An extraordinarly fast upload/download speed is not necessary to play Halo 2 -- except that the better services usually provide lower latency numbers.
