Battle Rifle- The only actual perfect weapon but there's never enough on a map.
True, but loses to carbine. Carbine > off host BR.
SMG- Terrible accuracy, refusive damage, and it's usually your starting weapon.
Its really not that bad guys. I actually have a lot of kills with this weapon. More than the BR because I can never get my hands on a BR in matchmaking.
Rocket Launcher- Rockets don't appear half of the time when you fire and very hard to use at medium to close range.
What are you talking about, dont appear?
Shotgun- Random effect. Sometimes it kills in 1 one shot at point blank range, and other times it takes 3. Definitely doesn't work as a good counter for sword.

Sword- Gotta hate it. Never runs out of energy. Ultimate noob weapon. Doesn't lockon properly. Randomly kills in one hit sometimes even if you don't dash. For some reason it allows the wielder to run faster. Whichever team has it on either Lockout or Midship is most likely to win. Should be removed from matchmaking. No clue why they brought it back in Halo 3. BAD BUNGIE! BAD!
The sword isn't that bad either. I've actually BXR'ed and BXB'ed sword before. Grenades and long range. And you don't run faster with it. If you walk backwards then you walk slower. Just turn around and run and set up in a place you can grenade and shoot.
Carbine- The covenant equal to the BR except the targeting reticule is not as precise.
Better if the BR doesn't double shot or quad shot. It shoots faster, just doesn't do well under latency. If you have host its good.
Plasma Rifle- For some reason, does explicit damage with an SMG at close range, but is terrible with another Plasma Rifle.
It's actually not that bad either. Most over rated weapon in Halo 2. This weapon with a BR is godly. You shoot the person twice then pull out the BR 1 or 2 shots.
Beam Rifle- Overheats after 2 rapid shots. Can see energy trail
Essentially you will never stop shooting until you run out of ammo if you know how to shoot.
Brute Shot- Extremely hard to handle. Does more damage with an absolute direct hit then it does with a bounce then direct hit. Melee precision is hard.
Melee precision? Thats like having a sword with a grenade launcher. 4 Bounce shots gets a kill 3 if you're host. Jump and melee is an instant kill.
Brute Plasma Rifle- Actually better then the regular one with the BR.
