Whoever spawns first at the very beginning of the game, IIRC.

Host is the guy who spawns first. When the game starts, hold the "Back" button and the person without the X by their name is host.

Also, Host hits you from spots and distances unimaginable LOL. After a while one can easily tell who's host by the way he's shooting you.

"Video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock and roll."-Shigeru Miyamoto

I always thought that it was the person that had the best connection at the beginning of the game.

Both, but it's hardly noticeable on LAN. On LAN the host will only be able to shoot a little bit farther than everyone else, but you barely notice it because everyone's shots register.

On Live if the host is bad and everyone is in yellow bar, you'll definitely be able to tell who has host, especially if he knows what he's doing (using host shotty or sitting back and just hitting everyone and they can't hit you.)

It gets annoying sometimes :-/

Well, actually all the time LOL

Actually the connection bars can still be green with all host advantages heavily present.

See I play from the land down under and it's visible every game, every international host etc.

Here's to Halo 3 with less host advantage and client validations.

Don't assume anything, because it makes an "ASS-" out of "-U-" and "-ME"

Amen, mate!

So true. I went and got a 17 megabit connection and still cop it.

Its even worse on Rainbow Six: Vegas...every game is red bar and I get kicked. GRAW 2 works pretty well.
