I personally do not believe that button glitches and superjumping are cheating.

A glitch, something not meant to be there, in this case button glitches and superjumps, which can't be fixed.
Exploiting, or even using, said glitches to your UNFAIR advantage IS in fact, cheating, no matter how you derranged cheaters twist it. No matter how you say it takes skill or whatever. Case and point: Exploit glitch = cheat. You shouldn't talk about cheating on the forums, or cheat in general.

Looking over your stats.. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you would get destroyed before you even got a shot off. Also, don't say you play offline all the time, talk is cheap.

Sometimes, when I'm watching MLG, I think, "Man.. I could totally do that. These guys aren't even that good."
Then, I think for a second, and realise, that they're facing other people extermely good which makes it all seems normal.

Like me, being a legit 29 before the reset. Playing against other 29's, everything was average, y'know nothing special happens.
Playing a level 40 was near impossible, as I didn't have the skill, but if said level 40 was playing another level 40 then it would be like me playing another 29; average and normal.

I believe the only ones who should even be able to think about seriously challenging the MLG players' skill should be legitly level 40+, probably 45+, and they'd still get wrecked most likely.

Most MLG teams have unmatched teamwork also. They've got nicknames for each square inch of the map. you'd hear "library" and then get 4 nades explode all at once in your face.

I can't believe nobody in this thread has realized that you don't need 4 bursts to the head to kill with a BR. Only the last burst has to hit the head. The first 3 bursts are used to lower the shields and can be fired anywhere on the body. After the shields are down, the final burst will only kill if shot to the head; otherwise it takes 3 more bursts to the body to kill (for a total of 7).

Button glitches don't really make a huge difference in your playing level.

ya i disagree there, using BXR you can pretty easily get a one hit kill without really having to much trouble with your opponent, i know a guy who can kill you one shot everytime using BXR, but i do agree that even without button glitches the pros could still beat the average gamer, but trust me using BXR to get a one hit kill is much easier then actually having to keep your recitile over the oponent as you fire 4 bursts, i really hope that is fixed in halo 3

Regardless, I seriously doubt you could stand up to the abilities of a pro team.

There are about three people that could go top 32 FFA on bungie.net. Me, Done DL (from what I have heard), and xPx APE. And FFA isn't even a major event, I don't think anyone on bungie.net (active-forumers) have a chance at the 4v4. Check it out.

Not true, you must be amazing and have great teamwork.

Raw Skill+Teamwork=Pro

  • 09.17.2007 4:36 PM PDT

Honestly, anyone with enough time can play 18 hours a day and become pro. However, if you're in school/college (like me), have a job (like me) and have a social life (like me), becoming a pro is out of the question.

Wow. You know next to nothing. Why would pros be so good at FFA then, that requires no teamwork? And yes all pros are amazing at FFA; some more then others<_<

GOAT

I don't think people in this forum realize how good the MLG players are.
Here are a couple of things to think about..
1. They do better off host, than you on your host at your best.
2, Teamwork is crucial, but if you can't kill them in a BR fight, its useless.
3. FFA relies on pure skill and knowledge of the map.

i would get pwnd against pro's just b/c of the quad shots and other gliches they use. A real pro can win without those.

sry for a double post but i just saw this. i tried this on split screen and if you make 3 body shots with a br it takes an extra shot then a head shot for the kill (5 shots), but if you hit em in the head it takes the shots to take out the shield and one to the head(4) or at least it worked that way on my 360...

I'm sure that they make 360 madcat controllers also, I know that theres people who can doit manually, but it is hard. I can doit to a point but I never use since i've been playing halo 2 the same way since it came out, and i'm not going to change my style of play just to get better let alone get better because of a glitch. But in a tournement can't prove they don't use it, and I think personally thats how they doit. Just substitute the trigger with the one glowy red button or however it works.

^ You are a COMPLETE idiot. You cant use madcat controlers in MLG and its not that damn hard to press a few buttons, so before you start throwing out accusations maybe you should learn a few things.

A complete idiot? Nah. I was thinking over xbox live where you can't see the other person your playing against. I dont see why someone would want to button glitch since its regarded as cheating but thats just me. Im the kind of person that hates it when someone bxr's or double shots you then starts boasting that they are better. When they're cheating, can't wait for halo3 then it will hopefully be gone.

QFT. RaptoR out of everyboy you posted could get top 32, no offense but raptor has a lot of raw skill at this game although he may not be the best team player in the world lol. I might be able to beat him in FFA on a good day if I'm lucky nowadays. There is so much luck involved in FFA it is rediculous so you cant really say that someone is going to get top 32 FFA.

Thanks for the support, but I couldn't make top 32.

Team play with randoms is odd. I just do what I feel like for fun, which is ignore the objective and slay. I enjoy doing that.
