Pro's win legit. "They button glitch soo much!" you might be thinking, But button glitching is ONLY cheating on Xbox live. Since the pro's play on a system link in tournies they are legit.

I like to Rollick

Play the right gametypes with the right people, and eventually you will be good enough to be pro. You have to play a lot though maybe 3-5 hours a day.

It takes alot of practice to be able to play at the pro level both in FFA and even more so in team games. In the new generation of MLG players however, you need to have an extra edge. You have to be able to learn fast, keep your mind open to new strategies learning new things as well as being able to adapt to all kinds of diferent strategies. Playing alot helps you do this, I agree but thats not all there is to it. There is also a "quality not quantity" factor involved. In other words, its not so much how much youre playing as it is who youre playing with and how youre spending the time youre online.

I could spend 12 hours a day playing with legit 28's and id never get any better because people at that level just simply dont know how to adapt and improve. If you put me into a game full of pros for 3 hours a day, however, id be alot more likley to learn and improve.

In all honesty, what kills me is that there are alot of MLG players out there and even some of you on Bnet that have alot of potential and you could be so much more than what you are, but youre so blinded by your egos and youre so limited in what you define as "skill" that you cant see past your own nose. Open your mind up, learn new things and work with lots of different people and actually start testing yourself and pushing your own boundaries instead of measuring dick s with each other. Actually work hard and talk about things and see what you can actually do instead of settling for "good enough".

Wow Kevin can't believe I didn't mention you LOL.

From the times we played together you showed definite leadership and a really nice knowledge of the game. Without a doubt you're one of the better players from here.

I appreciate it ICEMAN. I have alot of respect for you as well although I dont concider myself to be a fantastic player. I do know alot about this game and ive studied it inside and out. Some of us were just meant to be coaches though, lol.

The best players dont rely on button glitches to get them out of bad situations, they dont build their playstyles around those glitches.

Agreed, the worst players have to use them.

There's more good people on Bungie.net then you think.

Based on who I've played with, the best people on this site would be a toss up between Halocide, Orgasmic, Raptor, Deceiver196, Ape (back in his prime), MoB Death, and Envy.

Chilly, Critical, Lauzy, FK Pandemic, MLG Mark, JeEzy, Sacrament, and Deathrow get a nod too.

Again, I say this because I've played with these people and see their talent.

As for the question, I couldn't go pro even without button glitches. For one, the Pros have a better BR than I do (even without double shotting) and I'm not as tactical a player as them.

Going pro is about working hard for it. Take StrongSide- he was a match making player who heard about MLG through a friend and went a tournament and get wrecked. He worked hard and practiced as much as he could to get to where he is now- one of the premier players on the circuit (and a cool $250,000 contract.)

I feel so special. :)

Seriously, it would have been good to play with you guys more.

Back to topic:

Getting into the Pro FFA bracket just requires a lot of pure raw slaying skill, and a lot of practice. And slaying isn't just being good with a BR. I play in FFAs all the time where I have the best BR, and end up with most headshots and lose, because I wasn't playing complete that game. A great FFA player is great with a BR, great with melees, and great with grenades.

4v4 is more difficult IMO. Again, you need a lot of skill individually, and also be able to couple that with great teamwork skills. Plus, finding a team that you have incredible chemistry with is needed to go pro in 4v4. Again, an insane amount of practice is needed, not only to hone your individual skills, but to hone how well your team works together, and having your strats, etc.

Thats my short little summary of it.

I've played with some good people here, but not nearly enough to know how truly good some of you are.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kevin randomly coaching a team at a tourny though. Seriously........hes got the perfect qualities for a coach, you mess up, he's on your back, even in Training lol.

Rofl, half you kids are trash. No offense, but button glitches are very overrated. I just finished Top 32 in an EGL tournament, and lost to the eventual winner. Those thinking wtf is EGL, you know who won the Indy EGL 4v4? Final Boss. These guys do no button glitch like you think. Sure, we all BxR up close, but double shot is tough to pull off during an FFA. Being Pro is very difficult, especially in FFA. Top 3 out of 100+ people? Ha. Kevin Brock, can't do that, I can't do that, nobody on this website can do that.
Lol did you really just say Kevin Brock? You don't know us or what we can do, so don't act like you do.

Wow, grow up there bud. I played 3v3 against Kevin, and finished top on the team. He played great though. It is a compliment. But these pros are better than everyone thinks. Envy, did you go to any MLG events this year?

  • 09.18.2007 3:20 PM PDT

GT : Raptuh

I'm the best I know, therefore, I'm pro.
