Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

when there are multiple posts and you would like to answer them all. Do you make one giant post or a different one for each person you are talking to?

As a general rule, I'd make a giant post with quotes for each of the various responses. People really just don't seem to like double and triple posts here.

I think either way is acceptable. I've seen it done both ways and as long as you are not obviously bumping the thread, I think that it's within etiquette to either make a big post to respond to everyone all at once or make individual replies. At least, that's my opinion.

Personally, I tend to make a big thread and respond to everybody, but for me it's just a personal preference.

You say tomato; I say potato.

If there is one thing that turns me away from a thread, it's multiple subjects.
If I do need to address two separate quotes, I put them in the same post to keep thread size to a minimum and not confuse the concerning readers.(No one actually reads what I say.)

I use one post, as do most. But multiple posts would be acceptable in high-traffic threads.

It honestly doesn't matter. Your not violating any rules. I just do it the way I feel best at the time. It usually depends on the situation for me. However, it all works out in the end. Also who cares if they have a problem with you splitting replies? If you post the second reply right after the first and they get mad, you should explain them the rules because they obviously do not know them.

It takes more work, but I like to open two windows so I can copy and past multiple poster's questions to condense my response to one post. But I don't think the ninja's will crack down on you for multiple posts as long as you truly are addressing different questions and not just spamming or bumping a topic.

"Whatever exists, whatever in creation exists without my knowledge exists without my consent. These anonymous creatures may seem little or nothing in the world. Yet the smallest crumb can devour us. Any smallest thing beneath yon rock out of men's knowing. Only nature can enslave man and only when the existence of each last entity is routed out and made to stand naked before him will he be properly suzerain of the earth."

Personally, I use whatever I feel suits the situation best. When I am trying to quickly tend to several different quotes from different people at once, I will usually handle them one at a time, and use different posts. When I have more leisure time I just make one big post.

gnome is awesome. BUt aside from that, I would say try to keep it in one post. Unless someone replies after you posted your last reply, then keep them to the same post. Just quote, reply, copy, quote, paste, and reply and your done.

I've only ever once replied in two different posts in a single thread, because I was feeling horribly lazy.

Usually I condense it.
