So, I hadn't played halo2 in a month or so and I got it running the other week, and it told me i had to download an update for the game. I did so, and now when i select a halo2 profile when the game starts, I am not immediately presented with the option to login to xbl. And when I try to select xbox live from the main menu it says there is something wrong with my connection and to test it. There is nothing wrong with my connection, every other game works fine online. I feel like it has to have something to do with that update. Any suggestions?

if your using a 360, you have to sign in on the dashboard before you load up halo 2... if you have a normal xbox, then i suggest contacting your ISP, or check your cables and modem or whatever... good luck mate!

Yeah, I login to the dashboard just fine and that works but just halo2 seems to think there's a problem with the connection.

I know what your saying...Ive got the same problem. It seem to be something with the fact that halo 2 is a regular xbox game. Because all my other xbox 360 games will let me on XBL. I can sign on in my dashboard but as soon as i play the game the connection must be lost. I test connection and everything says to be working fine. I know there is some kind of patch that lets you play regular xbox games, but it normally loads/downloads automatically. I tried to find it on my hard drive but didn't know where it was. Anyone else have this problem and fix it? Or anyone know what's up? Me and Smitty need help...

Everyone! Gather round my genitals!

The message is a message from bungie or microsoft (cant remeber which). But it was just saying that MM would be down for a while about a week ago. I think the actual message is in your message screen, on the guide.

And something like the login thing happened to me. I was away on vacation, and I came back, and i DLed an "update". After that Halo 2 became an "unplayable disc", and all my halo 2 files got deleted. It suddenly started working a few days later, but i couldn't re-DL all the maps for about a week.

Weird.
