How's life?

Takin' forever...

Does anyone feel completely overwhelmed by all of this stuff?
I feel pressure to create something amazing and upload tons of sweet videos and screenshots right off the bat. I am just so nervous and anxious for our community to get a hold of the reins and start using this stuff like it's supposed to be used.

Bungie, you guys have given us the tools to help usher in the true next generation of gaming. The creative and technology-savvy minds behind this game have just reimagined and redefined video games and entertainment as we know them. Congratulations and infinite thanks to everyone at this studio who has made all of this possible.

If my life was a saved film right now, it'd be going in slow-mo towards next week....culminating in a well-placed Needler shot right to the man cannon.

Again,
Thank you

Looks pretty cool guys...

But you know it's a plot so Frankie can mess with stats, so he remains the Top Dog...

Dirty cheater. ;)

So two more maps that we haven't heard of yet. The Pit and Construct.
11 multiplayer maps in total.

  • 09.18.2007 10:35 AM PDT

So I guess we can get the armor from Halo:CE as a permutation?

If there is the potential to be disappointed, why allow this stuff in advance of the launch? I know I won't be checking things out because I don't want any of the experience ruined, but for a company like Bungie that keeps their cards pretty close to their chest, I'm a little puzzled over this. Since the game launches, for all intents and purposes, on Monday night, does having these features available on the weekend prior really serve any purpose? Why not make the feature available on Monday along with the game...so there can be no leaks?

There are two issues here - one is that the game is going out to a lot of people starting this weekend. We want these people and media folks to be able to have the Bungie.net experience as they are checking out Halo 3. But the bigger reason is that we want a day or two to work out any kinks before a million-plus people all flood the site at once. Doing a gradual ramp up to the 25th makes it easier for us to manage the site and identify any potential issues before the rest of the world comes knocking on our door. Practically speaking, it's also nice for fans to get a sense of how it all fits together on the site so they can also ease into it and not be overwhelmed or lost on day one.

It's not a huge deal - just don't come around this weekend looking at the service record for players and you won't find any spoilers.

Sketch,

Thanks for the reply. I understand the necessity of launching the site early to ensure a smooth rollout for the entire community come launch day; I can't imagine the complexity of producing and maintaining a site of this magnitude. I know I'll exercise extreme caution from now until launch and will likely avoid the tubes this weekend even though I'm eagerly awaiting the new Bnet.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

The term "hauling ass" just doesn't do it justice. I can only hope that other companies do start to follow suit and provide much greater online content which is fully integrated with their game.

I agree this level of integration is amazing!! For the hardcore players that frequent this site will allow us to get the info that we want when we want it. This goes far beyond simply knowing our k/d ratio (no reason to waste time on arithmetic). Now it seems that we can get pretty much any stat that we want and really have more info to really determine our strengths, weakness, and of course just another way to show off to your friend that you just kicked his ass.

DEEP NNN = Depends

Clan 2old2pwn on 2old2play.

Don't let yesterday use up too much of today.

Sigh, that's all there is for Clans? A Forum?

Serious disappointment.
